The voltage on the battery will slowly fall back down to its own float voltage. 15 minutes later, it will kick back on, with voltage upwards of 14.8 volts, and holds it there, to top off the charge on battery, for 15 minutes. Then repeats this 15 minute cycle setup, as long as it is connected to battery. If a load is applied to battery, the charge cycle is repeated, until voltage on battery gets full charged, then the 15 minute cycle kicks back in.
