That system is a soundbar and a 6.5" sub. It had DTX which was good for movies but you could hear the phasing is how they tried to create a surround feel. My TV is centered on a 40ft wall. I do not need rear speakers as the room is not conducive to that. What I wanted was a wider sound stage. I sent the Samsung back and decided to get an ultra cheapo system since most of the AVRs were on backorder. So got the FRISBY system because it had an OPTICAL IN. This system has 5 small speakers 1 being a dedicated center with a 6.5inch sub. There are only 2 choices for tuning but they are very good settings. 1 is more like 3.1 or could be 2.1 and the other setting is like a wider more DTX type experience. There is no EQ but trust me when I say it is tuned pretty well. and there is a slight difference in the treble switching from the Atmos like sound and switching to the 3.1. YES, no EQ but you can adjust the volume of the speakers. • The center channel is tuned specifically for voices so if you want more then just raise the volume on that speaker. I had to lower mine to taste. • Left and right speakers are paired for volume and are tuned to be wide wil less vocal frequency and what sounds to be a 5 EQ channel 'V' configuration. • The 2 other speakers are dual tuned. When in that wider atmos/dtx like mode these outer speakers seem to become crisper with slightly cleaner high frequencies similar to a Polk audio or infinity styled highs. In the 3.1 mode it take on the same 'V' curve that the main left & right speakers. • The sub is pretty good too. I only have its volume at about -4 and its very nice for me. if you want more, there is plenty there for ya. VOLUME: I have not had this system turned up to its loudest volume which i think is +30. I have only had it as high as +14 because it is pretty loud to me, covering about 2000 sqft with pretty full sound. WHAT COULD BE BETTER??? • There is a short 1second of soft static when you turn on your input after leaving it on overnight. But I do not think that this is any real problem or annoyance. It also could be because this system has an FM radio mode which is kinda cool to have. • I do think that a 3or5 band EQ would make this the best package under $200. BUT... at this price, I think it would be kinda too much and would cannibalize the sub 200 system market. • Slight flimsy feeling remote. SUGGESTION FOR FRISBY: As far as I can see this is the best plug&play system that the company makes and the nest in its price range even up to 200bucks. I would like to see what they would make to top this system. What would a $219. dollar FRISBY system be like? This is worth every dollar you will pay to buy it. EXCELLENT !!!! Review: Sounds great - The only issue I have found is when you turn it on AFTER the TV it works great. But if you leave it turned on and turn the tv on and off there is a lot of static. The Optic Link INPUT (mislabeled) is great for using with the TV setup we have since every input goes to the TV first. Then the TV sends the output to the SUBs INPUT (mislabeled) port. Then select the OP mode on the sub. So if you want some decent surround sound this sounds great. You can balance out the front and rear speakers, if you want a Movie Theater level of sound these are not the speakers. But are great for a home system for basic surround sound.

Sub woofer turned into Tesla's earthquake machine
Shipping was quick. Product set up was simple. Speakers are wired to the sub. The unit has blue tooth which is nice. Sound quality is bad. There is a lot of static no matter where I place it. Its fickle though. Sometimes it buzzes, sometimes its quiet. The volume makes no sense. Its basically super quiet or super loud. There is no real medium volume. At least for my unit. That is when using anything other than the radio. For the radio function the volume has to be nearly at max just to hear anything. After about a week of use the sub woofer sounded like a fog horn when the device was turned on. It was like Tesla's earthquake machine. I had to disable the sub to stop it. Now its just a very generic speaker system Im stuck with to try to get my moneys worth. It is now a do it yourself project to fix it

Worth the Money, with a catch
For the price, this unit is amazing. If you are using built in smart TV speakers - this is for you. I have it connected using my optical out and RAW Bitstream. Does make a buzz sound even when off. I didn't notice as I have it connected to a remote operated power strip and shut down the power to the wall entirely. The sound difference between 1-3 is negligible and 3-4 sounds like a full 3 decibel increase. They are not loud by industry standard. Perfect for a small living room entry Home theatre. This is not for those coming from Bose or another high end brand.

Great for the price
Overall, this setup is great and a huge improvement from my TV's speakers. Music sounds good, Movies sound good, etc. It's a little bassy, and I can't figure out how to turn down the sub so I might have to switch back to TV speakers late at night, but I am still pleased. No more subtitles trying to figure out what people are saying. As other review suggest, you'll want some extensions for your rear speakers if they're going any long distance. (Don't cheap out on them) 1 month update: Its still superior to my TVs built in speakers. That said, there is no control for bass treble, etc. There is only "prologic" on and off. Which is still acceptable for the price. My second complaint is that the speaker cables are hard wired in. You cant replace the initial 10ft that come with the speaker, so if you buy extensions, you'll be better off finding the shortest possible ones that fit your setup. I've been considering opening up a speaker to see if i can modify or remove the stock cables. If you have money to invest, this isn't your system. If you're looking for a system that's just better than your TVs system, and cheap, this is the one.

Works better than anticipated
This thing is LOUD and I am loving it. Make sure to just give the instruction manual a glance for using BlueTooth, the only part that was not self explanatory. Only problem with it at this point is that whatever volume level you have your source at, if you change the source to say optical, it will start at 0 and turn up to the volume you were previously at. Kinda weird, but not a big deal if you keep the volume low when you switch sources.

I didn’t expect it to be so awesome, volume at 2 is loud enough for us, 15 when we watch movies & as long as you don’t lose the remote control, it’s awesome
