Liberty Garden 714 Decorative Cast Aluminum Navigator Rotating Garden Hose Reel, Holds 125-Feet of 5/8-Inch Hose - Bronze

Install was relatively easy, but I have a broad set of tools including a hammer drill and carbide tipped bits. I bought 3. VERY expensive, but after looking at ALL alternatives, this fit the decor and function and they do look magnificent. None leak - although one did start to leak when put in a bind. I suspect the o-ring got compressed. I removed the tension and it stopped leaking so I am hoping for the best. The units are quite sturdy and the aluminum won't rust. They fit my 3 75' hoses nicely. Finish was good. The test will be next year when I fire them up after winter. If they leak - I will be back to update the review. Update: At the end of the summer - 1 has a small leak. Another lost a screw in the handle which required disassembly. The pivot mechanism is hard to work and looks like it is going to rust. I am only 5 months in. I will update at the beginning of next spring if they don't do well over the winter.

Bought this earlier in the season and held off on the review until it got some use. This is the hose reel I've been waiting for. Have been looking for a solid hose reel that will last. Over the years, I tried a number of different versions from plastic reels, metal hose carts, other metal reels, but all had some design flaw and would not hold up to use. The reel is very sturdy and even looks good. The small basket is a nice touch. Good to have a place to keep various hose accessories. The reel holds 150 feet of 5/8" Flexilla hose. Installation was straight forward. The walls on my house are standard wood frame construction with a single course of standard brick on the outside. I drilled 1/2 inch holes into the brick using a hammer drill and inserted lag shields. I then mounted the reel to the wall using 5/16 inch stainless steel lags screws with nylon washers between the screw head and the mounting bracket to prevent corrosion. The rotating action works well and is not flimsy. There was a freeze forecast for last night and removal of the reel was easy- take out the 3 bolts hold the reel to the bracket on the frame.

This is nice hose reel. It works smoothly and is an attractive design. We have a home that needs this look to be consistent. It's good. But the finish is lousy. It confuses me why a manufacturer will produce something this thoughtful and then finish it with a sub-par coating. It is a dark bronze color out of the box but begins fading immediately. By the end of summer, both hose reels were a light shade of brown (I purchased two of them at the same time. One is on the sunny side of the house. The other is in an area that is shaded much of the day). I used automotive rubbing compound to clean off the oxidation but here we are part way through the next summer and they are just as faded and the finish is falling off. I take them both indoors in the fall, then back out in spring. They don't live a hard life. Just so disappointed in the finish. I may take them apart and see if I can have them powdercoated, which is what should have been done in the first place. Maybe they are powdercoated but it doesn't handle the sun at all. So... The hose reel is great, the finish is lousy. Almost awesome. 4 stars.

Very ornate and beautiful. Relatively easy to install. Very functional. Nice storage basket built in.

It was very easy to install and It works great. The swivel function works well and the storage bin is large and keeps all my hose nozzles handy and safe. They are also hidden in the pocket so it looks nice and clean. It is well made and the quality is better than I expected. The packaging was durable and protected all parts of the reel. It was also very easy to install - just 4 bolts to the wall and attach the leader hose. The spacing of the mounting brackets are 16" on center so they line up with the standard spacing of wall studs, making the installation a breeze and providing a stronger mounting to the wall. Took me less than 15 minutes from opening the the box to using my hose. I'll be buying another for my backyard.

I wait a full year before I review items like this. The five star review is earned with this item. It's very heavy Duty and strong. If you mount it securely you shouldn't have any issues.

This is an outstanding hose holder. I LOVE that it has changeable angles so I can rotate it to pull any direction. This is a top feature for me. Very easy to rewind. I am using this with a metal no-kink hose and I couldn't be happier. VERY happy with purchase.

This swivel reel fit our needs perfectly. It's pretty sturdy, but not made of heavy duty metal and I'm not sure it'll last more than a couple of years, but we'll see. I rated it a little lower as a bolt came loose from inside of the reel within the first week of use. It's held since I had to fix it, but this part was preassembled and should have been correctly tightened before being shipped out.

I am well pleased with the quality of this product. I had become so accustomed to my leaky and balky old hose reeel, that I'd forgotten how easy to use a good one can be. It's newly installed so I cannot speak to durability, but the solidity of its construction augers well. I did have considerable difficulty in assembling the product. Some procedures, such as attaching the basket, require a surgeon's precision which I - Mr. fumble fingers - do not have. Also the instructions seem to be in the wrong order in one place; I mounted the frame, and then had to unmount it to add the basket. Still, the frustrations were worth it, as it works very well.

Hello, The wall mounting plate is damaged on the top (rubbed paint and 2 places without paint), the part that opens is deformed and does not close correctly.

Arrived on time, looks better than expected hoping it lasts. Being used here on the roof top as a 'dumbwaiter' not for a water hose.

This is the third Liberty Garden hose reel I have purchased - the #707 for my own use, and the #704 and this reel, the #714, for my daughter's home. All are well made, decorative, and cast aluminum. All connections have remained leak free, and the reels all work beautifully. I had occasion to need some customer support with a part for the #707 damaged in transit, and service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. I've used several different hose reels over the years, but none as good as these. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this reel to anyone needing its flexibility in movement. While it costs a little more than most other reels, it is a joy to use. In this case, you get what you pay for.
