Review: Solid Amp - This Amp was a breeze to install. The key thing I learned was to use the markings on the gain control. It is acutally measured in input volts instead of just 0-10 like most gain controls. I set it to 4V to match my head unit and it works just fine. After playing this thin for about 30 min its not even hot to the touch. I have had no issues with clipping at all.
Review: Very Solid Beginner Amp - Very high in quality and while it is low in extra features that is well known beforehand so there was no higher expectation. It is midsummer and although its hot to the touch from being in the trunk in the sun, it has yet to overheat or turn off. I've got it running a new P3 sub and it sounds exactly how I want it to. Supplies clean, reliable power. Not for people expecting to fine tune their sound system. Great beginner amp.

A: The JL 12W6v3D4 is a dual 4 ohm voice cool. If they are wired parallel (see owner'a manual) you with have a 2 ohm subwoofer and receive the 500watts. JL recommends a 200-600 watt amp, so this amp is well within those specs.

A: It can if you bridge it right, but later you'll want a much bigger amp. The bass is right for me. My Pioneer rms is 1400 watts for a 12" also. Hope this helps!

I replaced an older, on-its-way-out 300W RMS Alpine mono amp, and I'm very impressed. Using identical settings for gain, LPF, and boost, this amp really beats me up in my '01 extended cab Ranger pushing 300W RMS. Sealed box with ~0.75in2 volume, just a single MTX Thunder 5500 10" at 4Ohms. Great amp! Looking fwd to a 2Ohm application to get that 500RMS!
