Good quality sturdy - we love it

I bought this door sweep to use on an old floor that is a bit uneven. Because of the bristles, they give and take with the ups and downs of the floor. It works perfectly. I would recommend this sweep to anyone who has a problem floor. It does the trick.

The product was made with good quality aluminum and brittles. Caution, if you cut it it will continuously shed brittles. I did a little preparation by applying super glue liquid (not gel) to the base of my cut line(see pictures). After cutting I crimp with vise grip (see picture) or pliers. You can practice 1st on the excess end.

I would have given 5 stars, but the brush itself has a steel base that rusted. I installed this sweep to an outside door to prevent lizards from entering my patio. My dog pees on the door frequently. The brush absorbs urine and rain water up to were the metal part inside the aluminum casing is. Once rusted, the brush base expands and it can't be replaced. I had to buy a new one. I have not found another sweep with the size I need so I'll keep buying the same. I hope they manufacture this in all aluminum in the near future.

We replaced a entry door a few years back, and the door was too short so there was a Huge GAP at the bottom Critters came thru, wind and rain came thru, and for far too long my paid-for heating and cooling efforts were going right out thru that GAP too !!! This Product was Our Perfect Solution ! It was Easy to get and Simple to install ! And It has probably paid for itself just from all of the money that It's SAVED Us on the Heating and Cooling costs ! It works for Us !

Great product

The sweep seems to be made of solid materials, but be very careful if you need to shorten it. The bristles are not glue into the sweep, so if you cut the end off to shorten, all the bristles can fall out of the cut end. To shorten, I slid the bristle holder out of the aluminum mounting rail. This allowed me to cut the bristle holder and re-peen the end closed to keep bristles from falling out. Alternatively, one could put some caulk or glue on the cut end to keep the bristles from falling out. I separately cut the aluminum rail and reinserted the bristle holder. Since the bristle holder is not secured in the aluminum rail, you may also need to glue it in or slightly crimp the aluminum to keep the bristle holder from sliding out during use. There are no instructions for shortening, which is an oversight since I expect this is needed in many cases (as it was for me).
