Wonderful and fun to do with my 8 year old daughter. Just wished it had instructions to make smaller portions of products!
This is a wonderful kit to make with my 8 year old daughter and we had so much fun making bath and body products. She loved to add the oils to make the scents she preferred and we learned a lot from making these fun crafts! The only thing I would change is that maybe the kit should come with instructions on how to make smaller versions of the products because the amount it calls for to make one bath bomb, for instance, takes all of the ingredients to make. I would rather make several small ones with her than one big one.... which is what we did and we improvised and made a bunch of different things! This was a blast and my daughter and I loved it and the bonding experience as well!

Imagination, Wonders, Exploration, Creativity, and Vacation for Children
Good to have for creativity and exploration! Science, math, combined with fantasy, exploration, and a trip to a kids fantasy land of learning and the "wow" excitement of creation involving the essential language arts of recalling and documentation of...who, what, when, where, and how formation of what they did to create their own exploration, or provided recipes for making science experiments., My daughter... being her own fantasy scientist likes to experiment. My daughter is very smart, creative, and enjoys this kit. I also purchased one for my 4 yr. old. This is a tool that energizes ones curiousity of learning, creative skills, excitement, and intelligence. I give this ***** 5 STARS and I'd love to see it in classrooms. :)

Good Kit Idea, Light on Ingredients
This is a good way to look at an intro to the science of smell and beauty products. I'm giving it a 4, but it has some elements that deserve a 3 and some that deserve a 5. See below. The recipes for the spa products are simple enough for a 12 year old to do. I got this for a girl who is under 12, but with adult supervision, this is fun for an elementary school girl. Older girls would also enjoy this as well.Note: The provided ingredients are in small quantities. This has its advantages and disadvantages. It's a good intro for kids if you aren't sure whether they'll want to do it more than once. However, there was not enough baking soda or citric acid to make the Fizzy Bath Balm recipe.Either it needs a little more of the ingredients or the recipe needs to be scaled back (which for keeping the weight down for an amazon-based product, this is probably what they should have done). It could also use a small form to press the mix into. That could be added light and cheap. The ingredient quality seems decent. I am impressed with the condition of the rose buds - whole, not smashed. I would give it a 4+. The essential oil quantity is enough to do the scent experiment and make other products, but if you're an EO purist who is accustomed to getting your oils in glass bottles, you may not love these. For kids to experiment with, they're fine. The book could stand some development. On it's own, I would give it a 3.The content is decent, but it's got everything in three languages so you get to the end of the English section, expecting it to keep going and feel a little let-down.The number of activities/recipes is fine for an intro kit and it has some extension ideas you can do on your own beyond the kit. It was just the expectation with the number of pages that threw me off.Visually, though, the book is a bland grey instruction manual design with a couple of graphics. A little bit of layout editing and a little more quality in the paper and ink would take the book from a 3 to a 5.Other than wishing I had halved the first recipe, I would recommend this product for a kid who is interested in an intro kit.

Perhaps I should have read what included, if that's ...
Perhaps I should have read what included, if that's even listed. Of course they show a girl with test tubes in the tub - but I bought this for my daughter and it was more of a headache than it was worth. I thought she'd be able to play with it by herself (like change the bath colors and scents and stuff - solo) - but instead it ended up with me having to read through what we could actually do that didn't cause wait time or additional ingredients. That's another thing - everything you need for the various mixes and concotions are NOT included - what's in it is oatmeal, basically baking soda, dried rose buds, peppermint oil, lavender oil, some plastic syringe things, plastic cups, sea salt, and one other packet - almost everything I have here in the house - had I known that I wouldn't have bought it. Some of the things require you to wait an hour or so before using - it's just a lot of involvement for a very small kit.

Sparked an interest
I gave this kit to my niece as a birthday present in November. She had no idea what it was when she opened it but after explaining what it was to her, she seemed more interested. Her mom and her did one of the projects later that week and both of them had a lot of fun. Since then, my niece included a chemistry set on her Christmas list. I think this is a great way to introduce girls to science.

Boring projects that do not work.
Skip this product. I know, it sounds good and gets quite a few stars. That's why I bought it. Unfortunately, whatever we have tried to make with the ingredients has been a complete dud. Most recently, we made the fizzy bath bombs. Making them seemed easy enough, however, when my daughter had mixed all the ingredients, pressing them into shape was somewhat difficult as the mixture would simply keep crumbling. We finally managed, let them dry for over an hour, and my daughter happily jumped into the bathtub to try them out. We tossed one in and - nothing. About four little bubbles came up. We tried the next one - same experience. The "bombs" simply dissolved without any chemical reaction to be seen.I figured we had done something wrong and made another batch, making sure that I stuck to the directions to a "t." Let the new batch dry, tossed them into my daughter's next bath, and - nothing!Basically, this has been our experience with all the "projects" in this kit. At this point, neither my daughter nor I have even the slightest interest in this product. It's an absolute waste that only manages three things: It wastes your money, it wastes your time, and it disappoints your kid.
