Review: Ordered a 2 oz bottle but received a 0.75 oz bottle - is it a scam or a mistake? - I am the 4th reviewer to have recently received a 0.75 oz bottle even though the product description clearly states that the product offered is a 2 oz bottle including a photo of a clearly identified 2 oz bottle. I have returned the product to desertcart for a refund. I would like to write it off as a mistake, but the fact that at least 3 others have received the small bottles makes me suspect that it is more than a mistake.

**Q: What exactly am i getting here?  the model # shows r-0002a with description of 2.75oz while the picture on amazon shows r-0004 with 2oz?**
A: Thank you for your question. This item's descriptive data is currently all messed up. I reported it to Amazon several days ago and it remains a disaster. This item is supposed to be a Taylor R-0004 reagent in the 2 oz size (a.k.a. R-0004-C). There is no "2.75 oz" size available and this is NOT a DPD reagent. it is a pH Reagent.

**Q: Can this be used to test drinking water?**
A: This reagent is for use with a Taylor test kit, such as the K-2006 FAS-DPD chlorine test kit. If you have one of those, or at least the pH comparator tube (the one with the colored windows to compare the color of the test water to), then yes, you can then use this reagent to find the pH of drinking water (if it's between 7.0-8.0). If the test water is out of this range, then no.When used with the Taylor K-2006, you can measure the pH in 0.2 increments (from pH 7.0-8.0).

No one talks about how expensive pool maintenance is, but buying testing chemicals can be one of those "uncharted" expenses. However, Taylor kits are by far the best and most accurate way to measure pool chemistry, and little bottles (3/4 ounce) can be refilled with these 2 ounce bottles for a considerable savings—assuming you go through it fast enough or can store it without the chemicals degrading. Especially valuable if you maintain multiple pools or have multiple test kits that need to be refreshed.
