They can be worn with or without socks or tights, although black would be the most conservative. I plan to wear them with skinny jeans and leggings or even bootcut jeans. This style is unusual and different from other lug sole boots or ugly combat boots. I have many pairs of Report shoes and they are always well made and on trend. My husband actually liked this pair better than the other pair I was considering so I deferred to his taste (which was secretly mine anyway, lol). I have several pairs of black boots and usually buy at least one pair of boots a season. These are definitely different and I really like that. They are sexy yet are comfortable too, the best possible combination. I will enjoy showing them off to all the other biker's wives and girlfriends. They are too stylish, however, to be relegated to biker outings alone. With black tights, they are suitable for any occasion. I highly recommend these boots. Review: Cute sandals, but a bit narrow. - When I tried these shoes on & walked in them inside the house, they felt comfortable. However, when I wore them to work (I work in retail cosmetics), they became a bit uncomfortable to stand in & both sides of each shoe were rubbing on both sides of my feet causing me to blister on one side, so although I didn't think they were too narrow when I first walked in them, they actually are. I have medium-width feet/ true size 7 & can fit most size 7 shoes perfectly fine. Also... This may be an odd observation, but I also felt like I was standing in a tilted forward position when wearing these, which I didn't mind, but just never owned heels that did that.
