Does what it's supposed to do
Ok so I was looking for a decent portable media player with a decent amount of storage without having to fork out $200. I chose to take a chance on this one.So the first thing you do is turn it on and start messing with the interface - Verdict? The touchscreen does it what's supposed to - lets you tell the thing what to do. It isn't anywhere close to what you get with the I-Touch. One of the little annoying quirks is if you are watching a video and want to stop that video and do something else like say, watch another video, listen to a song, read an "E-Book" (text document), or look at the picture, while it can be done, the little back arrow in the far right bottom corner is the least responsive button on the screen. It just doesn't want to do it. You end up having to hit it a bunch of times and then it works. Sometimes I resort to just turning the player off and back on which effectively gets back to the menu but it's annoying.OK so now you start loading the thing up and seeing how it does with your media. Firstly the little ear buds that come with it? Junk - get some decent ones with the rubber cones on them.Mp3s: It plays them - they sound good. It supports Play lists, shuffling, and repeat.Videos: It plays Avi's encoded to 320 x 240 with the DIVX or XVID Codec. I use Allok Video Joiner to do that (it's used to put together clips into one video but if you just run one through it will convert it only and I can get some really nice looking results at Medium quality and they come out at about 200-400MB depending for a full length film or concert DVD. For me, this implementation is far better than Apples measly MP4 support only approach.Photo's: I haven't messed with this too much but it will look at them.E-Book: This is a really cool feature that I use a bit. It will read books but you have to save them as Text. I was having alot of trouble with it just seeing the 1st 3rd of the book and I saved them as UNICODE and it worked. So now that I'd had discovered all this I decided to peak at the battery life icon. They tell the truth, about 5 video hours, 10 for music. All in all I love it. It lets me listen to Music, watch Videos, and read books all from a little hand held device. It sounds great (with a decent set of Headphones or Ear Buds), the screen looks good and once you learn all the quirks, it will handle all your files. I don't leave home without it.Stuff I would like: External Volume Control and Skip Controls for the music, better touch screen, Wifi (for this money, I know, rediculous to even ask, but someday...)Almost forgot: I've used it now for a couple weeks with no problems before I wrote this. I wanted to wait until I have more than just a first impression.

Product has glitches
Okay, I chose 3 because there are times when I really like this thing. I got it about 4 days ago. I opened it up, and stuck my memory card from my phone in, and bam. There was all my music, photos, and videos instantly. I plugged in my headphones and played the music. One con is i had to adjust the headphones for the music to play right. I have to have the earphones pulled slightly out of the whole. But when done, the music sounds and plays great (not using the headphones that come btw. I own a really good pair of earphones and always expect to get weak headphones). Sorry, I didn't even try the earphones that came, but They looked pretty cheap to me, and i'm a sound engineer, so I love quality sound, good base, etc. But anyway. Love the sound and volume options on the player. The songs played in alphabetical order, and, I wasn't able to find a shuffle option.. although I may be wrong, it might be somewhere (will update!). The touchscreen was responsive enough. Not like an ipod, but not difficult. The hold option works. I listened to music for hours, and loved it. I acts slow when you turn it off like it's sad to go or some thing. You slide it up to off, and it still plays your music for a while, then it fades out, then a pixelated, or pixelly (i dont know) little animation of the word "byebye" appears, and finally, the player shuts off.CONS. Today. I turned it on, and it started on the song I left off on as always. Played that perfectly. I Pressed next, and it fastforwarded completely through my next song, no matter what I pressed, even off. Then it went to the next song, and became responsive, but it was playing the song all stupidly, skipping like a scratched CD. I pressed next, and each song did the same. Then randomly, one worked, and the whole problem went away. I'm listening while I'm writing this, and every thing's great again. So, I don't know how it's gonna act in the future. But yes. It was tweaking.I originally was going to write a terrible review about this while it was tweaking, until it started working. Then I got confused and wrote an unbiased review. So just some random advice when reading reviews, pay attention to see if it is a biased review. Is the person in rage while writing it? lol. I don't know. Any way, I don't know what to conclude about this mp3 player. I can say, it's not worth $40. Maybe $20, but not $40. I usually get cheap stuff like that, and this is on the same level. I might as well have paid the same amount I usually do, for the same quality. So end the end I guess I'm not happy with my purchase, although it makes me happy sometimes, because it's the only mp3 player I have, and when it's working it works great. I am rambling... Im sorry.

I bought this mp3 and I don't particularly like it. it's hard to get it to accept your touch even if you callibrate it. it don't have very much option. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Buy a different brand.

This product definitely has some issues
The first and most annoying problem I have with this product is the touch screen features. Why do we always have to configure it on the first use? That issue also led to it hanging/crashing at times which I find really irritating!!. Being unable to control how the touch screen feature behaves now made me mistakenly change the language to Chinese. With no reset feature in place..I'm stuck with an mp3 player that doesn't respond to my touches plus its in Chinese now so I can't even change it.I feel I kinda wasted 40 quid on this...I really do like this player but I HATE it NOW
