I waited for about 3 months before writing the review. The description says "Prestige Deluxe Safety Valve with Blue and Black Rubber Rings - Genuine Replacement part for Prestige Pressure Cookers", manufactured by Gandhi appliances. However, the quality is so poor and I am doubting how "Genuine" the product information is. Bought this valve to replace the original one that came with the pressure cooker. We hoped this will work as the original one. First off, the rubber washer (black one in the picture that goes outside the cooker) that is supposed to hold it in place is so weak that it just falls into the cooker. Then you have to open the cooker, retrieve it, fix it again and pray it will stay till the cooking is done. I even tried to pull the slit top of the aluminum top so that it will stay in place, but still not working. I am searching for a "real, genuine" replacement part. This time, I will look carefully at the name of the manufacturer, Gandhi appliances, and stay away from them.

Works perfect. You do have to check what kind of valve you have in your cooker. Our original had a white "washer". This one has the blue washer. We called up family in India had them check with Prestige and apparently this is the new version. Somewhat expensive considering the part, but better than trying to get it from India.

Quality is average and lifespan is very less. I ordered 3 items and one of them already got old and not working now. Original one that came with cooker worked for 1-2 years. but this one worked only for few months.

I fix it and working very well thank you so much. I like it.❤️

Original valve works fine but just wanted to have spare on hand ... just in case!! Wish to say that I wasn't prepared for explosive release of air and water when pressure reaches the 5 lb limit. Any other cooker I've used releases gradually with a slow and steady zit-zit-zit-zit until heat is reduced a notch or two to a point where pressure releases in controlled gradual manner. The Prestige cooker needs to have a circle of damp dish cloth around the vent stem area to form a wall containing the escaping water. Easy enough to do this when getting started but be careful to not block the vent weight and not allow it to release. Seems like the engineers need to redesign the vent stem to allow the weight to slowly rock back and forth in stead of suddenly be forced upwards with explosive release of pressure. My little 2L cooker is great for cooking up bones from a small roasted chicken for a delicious soup stock rather than just chucking out the bones after eating the chicken.
