Would they fit on this pen?** A: Yes. Sailor uses proprietary ink cartridges and converters, and they work on any of their pens that accepts ink cartridges. **Q: what is converter for?** A: A converter is used for bottled ink. With this Sailor pen you have the option of using Sailor ink cartridges or using a "cartridge converter". The converter fits in the pen where a ink cartridge would otherwise fit and can be filled with bottled fountain pen ink. **Q: Is the Sailor 1911 Fountain pen available with fine Nib ?** A: Yes it is. In fact Sailor offers 7 different nib grinds for this pen. I don’t know if you can find them on Amazon all the time though or if ever. That will depend on the sellers and what they offer. I was only able to find it recently as of Dec. of 2022, in medium grind. But I really liked the price and figured if I want to, in future, I can send it in to what is called a nib meister and have the nib ground to a different size and/or style. So I could, for instance, get a cursive italic grind, or thinned down to a fine. Extra money spent, yes. But still cheaper on a whole, with the price of the pen here and the nib meister’s new grind, than it is to purchase elsewhere. I hope this info helped you and gave a little more insight and info that you may be able to use in future. Take care. Cheers **Q: How large is it compare to a Sailor Realo black fountain pen? Or are they same size?** A: Hi,Yes, the Sailor Realo 1911 Full-Size fountain pen is the same size as the Sailor 1911 Full-Size, both have a length of 5.5" capped and a weight of 23.7 grams.Hope this answers your question.Kind regards,David H. ## Frequently Bought Together - Sailor 1911 Large Black Gold Trim 21K Gold Medium Point Fountain Pen - 11-2021-420 - Sailor Fountain Pen Converter, Black - Sailor Fountain Pen Converter (14-0500) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kr/products/8178455-sailor-1911-large-black-gold-trim-21k-gold-medium-point](https://www.desertcart.kr/products/8178455-sailor-1911-large-black-gold-trim-21k-gold-medium-point) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Korea* *Store origin: KR* *Last updated: 2026-10-06*
