Rodent Repellent Coating, 250 g| Rat Protection for Engine Parts and Wires | Long-Lasting Effect, Liquid

We have a big rat problem in our apartment complex and lot of cars have been affected. Just last week rats sneaked in my seltos hood and chewed off the ac wire. On suggestion of my local car workshop owner, I got this for my seltos. It seems to be effective, but it is too early to confirm the longevity of this. Some pointers: Get the engine bay area washed before applying this. This will leave a clear shiny layer on the areas where it is sprayed. Spray when the engine is cold. Use a 2nd layer spray after 1 or 2 days. Use 2 masks and sunglasses / eyeglasses when you spray this. The smell is very strong when you spray it and if there is wind, it can enter eyes and burn. Make sure you put some newspaper or cloth over the windscreen glass, as when I was spraying with bonnet open, some part of spray went to the glass and it formed small droplets which are rough to feel and very difficult to take off. I had a hard time to remove from front glass. Car shampoo didn't help. Finally I applied a little acetone on it and it seemed to work, but the acetone cleaning can damage glass or leave residue. So I applied them in small batches and asked my cleaner to wipe it off with colin glass spray immediately.

I tried the 3M Rodent Repellent Coating mainly for car wiring protection. The application is straightforward. the spray spreads evenly and dries into a thin, clear layer without leaving sticky residue. It’s designed to discourage rats from chewing cables, and in my experience it did reduce gnawing marks for a couple of months. The 250g pack is enough for multiple applications on a bike or small car engine bay. However, it’s not foolproof. In areas with heavy rodent activity, I still noticed occasional damage, meaning reapplication is needed more often than expected. The smell is strong during application, so it’s best to use in a ventilated space. Also, it’s a preventive measure, not a cure. you’ll still need to keep the area clean and free of food sources. Pros: • Easy spray application; dries clear • Helps protect wires; reduces gnawing • Compact 250g pack; sufficient for small vehicles Cons: • Not 100% effective in heavy infestations • Needs reapplication for lasting effect • Strong odor during use; requires ventilation Bottom line: A useful extra layer of protection for car and bike wiring, but best combined with other rodent-control measures for reliable results.

Works good. A single spray lasted a month at max for a regular drive!

Not working on rats. Applied so many times.

Don’t buy this product, its a complete waste of money as it does not work at all. It has a very strong smell which only keeps humans away and have no effect on rats at all.

My honest review after using in our 2 cars at different areas... From day one after spraying the 3M RODENT REPELLENT... Its working 100%. Smells like nail polish ... No smell in the car... If anyone facing problem with rats in your car... Can go for its.

nice and useful product and a must have for people who park their vehicles out side or at near farms or farmlands or overnight stays in vacations.

Product quality reasonable. Needs frequent spraying @ 6-7 days interval.
