This prevented the USB 3 cable or SATA cable from being able to be inserted! The solution: shim it with a piece of soft plastic, about 1mm. VERY easy to do since 2 screws hold the adapter plate to the card. Maybe it was my mobo or maybe the card. I cant say but now I have SUPER fast USB but havent tried the SATA yet.
