Purchased for my daughters 2006 Santa Fe GLS 2.7L V6. The OEM alternator finally failed after 218,000 miles (impressive!).Side by side comparison of the new TYC (Valeo design) versus the OEM Valeo alternator: The two look identical, and included the correct drive pulley.Access is a little tough due to location, however it is pretty straightforward, requiring no special tools. You CAN do this and save yourself money versus paying a mechanic.Disconnect battery negative terminal (10mm socket or combo wrench).Although not required, you will gain upper accessibility by removing upper engine cover (10mm bolts).Block rear tires (front and rear) to prevent any movement.Jack up front passenger side and secure with jack stands.Remove front passenger tire (use vehicle tire tools, air or electric impact tools).Remove plastic splash panel (four 10mm bolts).Loosen belt using belt tensioner tool or 3/8" pull handle with cheater.Access front of alternator and remove upper bolt. Easy from the bottom.Loosen (do not remove) lower nut (remove once alternator is out and move bolt to new unit).From above, reach behind engine and remove nut securing primary cable to alternator. Combo wrench.Lift alternator from lower cradle, then rotate to access and unclip wire harness.Pull alternator down and in front of drive shaft to remove.Remove lower bolt and nut, then transfer to new alternator.Reinstall by reversal of above steps.Total time to remove, replace, clean and put up tools is 1.5 hours.I'll provide periodic updates regarding longevity moving forward.I hope this helps.

For my 05 Sonata. Originally I ordered another alternator from Amazon and upon receiving it I gave it to the mechanic shop to install it and it was put in only to find out afterwards that it was not any good so I bought this alternator to replace the first one and it has been running good for about two months now very very pleased with the quality. I will not name the other brand I bought in the event that their product was that one in a handful that was just bad and I don’t wanna give their company a bad reputation. Unfortunately I did have to pay double labor for the install, always get your parts tested before install Oriellys bench tested this alternator for FREE to confirm it was good before I had it put on. Normally I would install myself but unless you have a car lift and the time to remove an entire axle, control arm, and jack your engine up with wood just to drop an alternator out I recommend taking it to a shop.

Perfect fit and half the cost compared to the ones from our local auto part stores. Plus, we received the alternator one day faster than expected.

I bought this alternator to replaced the original in my vehicle that finally stopped charging. I read the reviews and seemed like a good product. It's been working for 3 months and I haven't had any issues. I'm happy with it and looks like all is well.
