Although I’ve only had the kettle a little over a month, I’m very pleased with it. I’ll use it for the occasional cup of mint tea (sweetened with a packet of Orange Blast or lemonade powdered drink mix—try it!), my primary use is to boil eggs. Anywhere from a single egg to a half-dozen, perfectly boiled every time in about 5 minutes. For hard-cooked, let them sit in the kettle after the boil cycle stops, until the water is cool enough to handle (hat-tip to Alton Brown for mentioning the kettle as a boiled egg multi-tasker). The kettle comes to a boil quickly, and the blue light around the bottom while cooking is pretty cool—sort of like watching a Lava Lamp (dating myself). I especially appreciate the very wide mouth on this kettle—easy to fill, and to unload a handful of cooked eggs! The 1.7 liter capacity is plenty ample. I also like the clear glass: as mention, the blue light looks good, and, when inevitably calcium starts to build up inside, it’ll be easy to see and reach with a sponge and a bit of vinegar. Altogether a nice purchase. p.s. another egg-cooking tip from Jacques Pepin: use a thumb tack or push-pin to punch one tiny hole in the large end of your egg before beginning to boil. The hole allows air inside to escape as the egg begins to cook, so the pressure inside the egg is allowed to escape without cracking the eggshell.

Looks nice, works well. We aren't using it often, so I can't confirm any rusting or residue like in other reviews yet. But it did somehow get some water drops inside after the first use, and got condensation / moisture between the glass and the electric part (see video), I'm not sure if that's okay or not really..

Update: this lasted me 2 and 1/2 years and it’s now finally spilling water out of the bottom but this was such an amazing buy I will miss it 😢 I purchased this and I was nervous but omg it’s amazing it warms up water so fast and I’m so happy!

I purchased this product for the first time almost exactly 2 years ago and if I have said it once, I have said it a million times.. It is definitely one of the best purchases I have EVER made. I am a tea drinker!! YEARS, and I mean YEARS, thank you ADHD I would find my tea cup left in the microwave, or my tea kettle or pot boiled dry on the stove. This heats the water SO quickly, and if I am distracted by squirrels it boils and then shuts itself off!! EVERY TIME!! We now use it also to pour water on our pets food. If you are a college student or know one it is a GREAT gift!! Do you like Ramen?? My husband has used it for that too!! My granddaughter likes to come over every Sunday in the winter for a cup of hot cocoa and she has put one on her wish list for when she moves into her own house!! I think this is also a great idea for the elderly who also may forget their kettle. I do like that this kettle is glass and see through, I can tell how much water is in it from across the kitchen, some models have no indicator of water level, you have to take the lid off to check. There are some cute ones, but this is my favorite. Today, long after I used it for breakfast I heard the glass crack. I am not sure why, it wasn't on and the base, nor the glass container were hot. Two years isn't a long time for an appliance, however, it is used at least five times a day here! so I feel we have gotten our moneys worth and we ordered a new one right away!!

This is a fairly nice kettle. My wife accidentally placed her other one (which was very nice) on the cook top of the range (where was her mind?) while it was on. Needless to say, it melted. She wanted another and didn't want to spend too much. I tried to buy her one that was more like the original, but she insisted on this one. So, I bought this one. It works fine, looks nice, cool blue lights, starts up and slowly heats the water to a boil (no temp control, just on and off), then it shuts off. Works fine if you're not interested in perfect heat for a certain type of tea etc. Has a little screen filter that seems to work well. Overall look is stylish. Glass is pretty much like any of the others I've seen. Just a pretty good, no frills, kettle at a great price.

I purchased my kettle in 2019 to replace another one of a different brand. I figured that since it was priced lower than the rest it’d turn out to be a you get what you at for and I’d be replacing soon too. Well here we are February 2023 snd I’m having to replace it. Not because it stopped working but because my clumsy neighbor dropped it just right for the pitcher to break. Now mind you I’ve dropped it over the years and it’s practically bounced right back into my hands. Anyhow, as I realized that she’d broken it, I immediately went back to view my previous orders and was so happy that I could reorder another one. Let me say this kettle has been a trooper everyday for almost four years, I’ve used it morning and night. Sometimes in between too. Teas, hot cocoa, instant coffees, instant oatmeal, cup of soups, boiling water for recipes. I even used it for three days when my hot water heater went out and was being replaced. It’s fast, it’s simple to use, easy to clean. Great in the kitchen or guest room (with a mug or two with a variety of teas, hot chocolate or ciders) it makes for your guest to enjoy some relaxing quiet time if they choose. Anyway, I can’t wait for Saturday when my new kettle arrives. From now on when my neighbor stops by, I’ll pour. I’d highly recommend this item.
