And Affordable
Good saw. Ultra thin blade, and sharp. Works well with a dovetail guide. I have 2 other hand saws suitable for dovetails, but this is my go-to.

Great Value
The dovetail (rip) saw came moderately well-packaged in an oversized box with kraft paper packing on one side only. I read reviews from customers who received bent or otherwise damaged saws, so I took the time to inspect mine with magnifiers before using. I was pleased to see that it was well oiled and in perfectly good condition. Using it was a pleasure as well. I do enjoy the pull-cut that these Japanese saws offer. However the plastic handles are “cheap” feeling. Not sure about “balance” of the saw vs the handle. I have the crosscut version of this saw as well, and some of its teeth had bent out because I was too aggressive with it. It was easy enough to mark those teeth with a sharpie and gently press them back in line, one at a time. These saws are very thin and flexible despite the stiffener at the top. I have trouble keeping the cross-cut saw on my line while cutting, but I chalk most of that up to user-error since I don’t cut with these every day. This rip saw seemed to track better. Overall I think the value for the money is very good for these saws.

Great saw, great customer support
I had ordered the 8" fine kerf dozuki, and liked it so much I ordered this (and a ryoba) to replace older saws I already had. This saw is excellent, cuts well and accurately, much better than my old ones. The handle is nice, and I look forward to using it so much I'll need to take advantage of blade replacement. A customer service comment: there was a mixup (on the Amazon side I suspect) with a mislabeled saw. Getting the proper saw reshipped needed contact with Suizan. The Suizan customer support people were prompt, courteous, and concerned about my satisfaction. I could not have asked for a better response from them.

Nice quality, very precise clean cutting.
Wowee. What a difference for precise cutting or wafer thin adjustments to cutting! I do furniture upcycling and bought this saw on recommendation from a guy explaining how to shorten chair legs without breaking your heart, on a youtube video. This is my first pull saw so I'm probably overly enthusiastic, and I can't compare it to other pull saws. I'm not a big strong person adroitly wielding heavyweight saws so that's not an option for me. But really, night and day from a regular saw for this same task. The cut is so cleanly finished you barely need sanding.

great dovetail saw
I purchased this because it is so similar to the Gyokucho 372 (which I love for dovetails). It is almost an exact replica except for the lower tooth count (17 TPI instead of 19 TPI). It cuts faster but still leaves a nice finish. This one is much easier to obtain and cost less. Very pleased with how it cuts. Just wish the handle had been higher quality, but this is not uncommon for Japanese saws.

Good saw, great customer service
I’ve really enjoyed using this saw, though mine got bent out of shape rather quickly. Customer service got this resolved very fast, I will definitely buy from SUIZAN again.

Best handsaw I have ever used
I bought this second one as a gift to my son because I like mine so much. Like a backsaw in operation but very thin kerf and cuts as least as quickly as a regular crosscut with less effort. I am able to crosscut much more accurate 90 degrees on 2x4s with this than a regular crosscut. Prefer it to circular saw because it is relaxing, light, and set up is much easier for me. Cuts are very smooth, requiring much less sanding. The blade is very thin, but kept edge well and strong if used properly. (Pull stroke, don't force) Think razor blade. I loved my old Disstons but they got dull and I kept putting off sharpening them. Now I won't have to.

Very Sharp Saw
I used to have a full wood shop, but got rid of it years ago. Just missed it so much that I set up a table in my living room and make smaller items for the grandkids. I use a variety of wood and thicknesses so I was looking for a “main saw” to use. Saw this one and ordered it. Have used the heck out of it ever since. It’s a “draw saw” so I had to get used to doing the opposite of what I did before. lol Was just cutting some 1x2 red oak for some toy trucks and it sliced right through it! Very clean edges. You just have to remember to let the saw do the work. You just guide it. Very good steel. Sturdy and comfortable handle. I like it a lot!

It is the one of the best dovetail saw if not the best. Rip blade cuts effortlessly. Only issue is with their packaging. Every saw i ordered came bent. I wish they handle packaging better.

Had it for a while now. It's cuts trough hardwood like it was butter.
