Fun book with an engaging story

The book is funny, fast-paced, funny and even more funny. Lets just say I like funny. I love the characters and how they are decribed.

Great book for 3rd grade - kept them engaged

My Son loves all his books. It keeps him busy. He loves it and I think those pictures are very nicely drawn, it is easy to read and just a nice relaxing reading for children.

After reading the Geronimo Stilton graphic novel — The Sewer Rat Stink — my daughter begged to read the original series. This is the first book, and she was enamored. You'd never know it's a "new" book, because she's carried it around with her and memorized her favorite lines. She's read it alone — she's 6, going into first grade this fall — and as a family at bedtime. The illustrations are fun, and the added graphic kick applied to the text throughout makes this a good choice for those transitioning from early chapter books to more advanced ones. The story is full of tongue-in-cheek cheese humor that parents will appreciate. It was so well loved, we've bought the second and third books in the series.

My 7yo daughter discovered these books at her elementary school library. We often sit down to read them aloud and I must say these are creative and entertaining books! When she falls asleep, I read to the end! Geronimo Stilton is a cute, creative little character that takes many trips and gets himself into lots of predicaments. His sister Thia also gets in on the action and has apparently gotten her own line of books of well, though I have not yet read these. Best of all, there are many books in this series, so I can continue to purchase them for my kids as gifts as they grow!

I bought this to read with my son because it had such good reviews but I have to be honest, the cheese jokes, puns and wordplay really start to lose their appeal as the book goes on Story is fun, sort of a journalist mouse's version of treasure island. Like I said, would like it more if it laid off the cheese jokes - there were usually 2 per page at least. I get I am not the target audience but even my kid was sort of over it by the middle. The best part of the book by far is the literal text with numerous words and phrases written in special graphics and fonts - very fun way to spice up the reading Overall I think 3 stars is just about right for this book. I wonder if the series gets better as it goes on?

I just recently found this series and I love it! The way the words are "illustrated" keep reluctant readers intrigued. It is one of the favorites in my classroom. Great read aloud series! Geronimo Stilton is a mouse who seems to be drawn to adventure and mishapes. I can't wait to read more from the crazy mouse!!!!

Bought for my five year old grandson, and he is enjoying being read a few chapters before bed.
