Does it come with wires ?

No, this controller does noty include a wiring harness. On the reverse side of the controller is a 4 pin electrical socket, ready to accept the standard webasto controller 4 pin electrical plug. Thank you for your enquiry

What are the approximate temperatures for each red bar along the dial?

Unfortunately I cannot answer this real accurately. Its a graduated scale that helps control the ambient room temperature, but really the temperature reference for this purpose is taken from the heater air inlet, rather than the actual controller, the controller itself does not have an integrated temperature sensor

How does this rheostat work? Will the unit shut off when a desired temperature has been met or will it?

Dependent on heater version and build year, I would expect the heater to modulate between full heat output, and lowest heat output as it tries to comfortably maintain your set room temperature. Finally, if the differntial between set temperature and actual temperature is zero, the heater would automaticall yswitch off. Will it replace part number 83051?

I can confirm that Webasto do NOT supply variations of this rheostat controller - if your controller looks like this controller as pictured, then our new controller is the replacement for it. It works. This is a simple controller that also lets you put your gasoline powered heater into the high-altitude mode, which is apparently what should have been done with them at the factory.
