**Q: realistically, is this accurate enough to tune a table saw for woodworking?**
A: It measure down to .001 inch.  Wood that I work with it’s plus or minus 1/16” on a whole project.

**Q: The dial indicator doesn't move.  how do i unlock it???
i just got it.  there are no instructions. i did manage to get it put together.**
A: As stated earlier there is a small knurled knob on the right side  of the dial.  That knob locks in the face of the dial. Turning it clockwise tightens the face to a predetermined position.  The needle should move whenever the plunger is depressed. If that does not move then you should either return as defective or consult the manufacturer.  Hope this helps. Good Luck.

A: no battery, it is dial indicator, with the dial.

After reading the bad reviews I ordered it anyways. Was not disappointed. Not sure what others are trying to do with it but it does what it is supposed to do. Use mine with a rotary chuck to see if everything is rounded before I try to use the laser on it.
