Bought this as a birthday present for my niece and she absolutely loves it! Affordable, fun and interactively designed, easy instructions and has space marked out in the book for them to practice drawing! Great for kids who love to draw/doodle, is a fun no-pressure way to teach them technique! And draw awesome creatures!

At first my 12 yr old daughter wasn’t excited when she opened it during Christmas because it said UNICORNS and heaven forbid a 12 yr old be caught with a unicorn. LOL but after she thumbed through the pages and saw the other animals she liked it. Especially when we said we’d make a family drawing day of our animals. I think we will each draw one on a canvas and then paint them in. Fun project.

Purchased for our artist of the house. She’s 5.5. At first she was a bit intimidated but then I sat and did a few with her and she’s hooked. She loves this book. Simple instructions. Also like that it shows varieties of the same animal. We have made a point to not draw in the actual book despite there being space for it. We just don’t draw in books because we want others to fully enjoy them when we are done. So that part was not needed in my opinion and they could have used that space for more instructions and variety. Overall for the price it’s a great book!

Lots of cute animals to doodle. Would like to have seen more project ideas for how to put these characters into various scenes or poses. It's great for beginners.

So many funny little animals with instructions plus a few finished variations for each one. I have kids but actually bought this for myself as I’m trying to learn to doodle and draw simple things for fun. I’m hoping my kids will join in once they see how cute and easy this is.

Great doodles, each animal has a 2 page spread. One has the 5 steps and a 6th spot for practice, the next page has a sketch prompt. They are different for the different animals. A fun, screen free way to spend an afternoon.

Got this as a gift and my kids satrted using it and didn’t want to give it up so I had to buy another. Not overly complicated so they can make cute designs easily and not get frustrated.

This is my daughters favorite how to draw book. She is 7 and it’s perfect for her skill level! The animals are adorable!

Great book, arrived on time

This has kept my kids entertained for hours on end. Had loads of cute pictures from it. Easy to follow

Theres a common trend in cartooning books these days where there is a small "how to" and then lots of white space for the kids to draw in. In reality these books dont lay flat and are not really good for drawing in. It must be the easiest book for an author to create. I have lots of drawing books from the 50, 60s, 70s etc (too advanced for my kids though) that are massively detailed with no white space. The budding artist is expected to practise in drwaing pads or on typing/printer paper. I think kids books should be the same - books by Christopher Hart tend to be like that - and I think I'll just buy more of from him - lots of instructions and you practise on paper. This book is very light on instructions and I will be returning it.

Beautifully designed and with super easy steps to follow - my six year old daughter absolutely loves it! I love the activity page for each animal, too - lots of nice ideas for further drawings. Overall, a lovely book which would make a great present.
