Will these fit my 1998 Legacy outback 2.5 dohc engine?

Only if engine code ej25d is listed in compatibility. What I found was only for sohc engines specifically ej25e 1999-2000 legacy sohc

Will these work for a 2005 Subaru Legacy non turbo

I used them in a 2010 EJ25. My issue with them is the stems are not nearly as smooth as the oem valves. I get some random smoking at start up now, so either the seals they supply with the valves are not as good as oem, or the not as good as oem finish on the stems is letting oil seep past the seals. The engine did not smoke before the timing belt broke, (8000 miles premature) it does not consume excess oil or coolant, fuel pressure does not bleed off, and only smokes on start up, so it only points to a valve seal issue. Other than that, there hasn't been any issue, so far. You get what you pay for. Unfortunately the cost was adding up fast to repair this, and Subaru valves and seals would have been easily another $200 to $300. The car only has to last me another year, maybe two, so I deal with the smoke issue.
