Nice Infrared Webcam
I purchased this camera to monitor the behavior of my mice in a soundproof chamber. Just tested it and it is much better than I expected. The webcam can visualize the mouse in details even in complete darkness. The camera is plug and play and Window 7 installed the device driver automatically. The only complain is that there is no instruction included about how to start the camera. I had to go to ELP's official website to download the file [amcap (new).exe] by myself.

Actually just a piece of junk
If you run multiple webcams (or not, probably) this guy is just not up to the task. While it worked, it supplied reasonably good IR video, but it caused a significant sync problem with audio (it doesn't have a mic, nor does it have MIC in), and finally swooned with "USB device requires more power than the port can supply" errors across all 6 USB ports on my Intel i7 NUC. Frankly, this is the second ELP device I've tried and neither are worth bupkis. Maybe a driver update would be the ticket, but clearly such things are beyond the capabilities of this manufacturer. I'd offer my left arm for a reliable American supplier of products in this segment.

Excellent Fisheye in good lighting
if you are looking for a fisheye webcam is affordable and effective. Well worth the price. My one gripe is with the sensitivity level at which Auto Night Vision/ Exposure kicks in. with my other webcams, I can still get a clear (color) image in low-to-medium light or with colored lights. With this webcam, however, the Night Vision mode kicks in and turns everything black and white when streaming at the same room brightness\color. I usually correct this by having one normal lamp pointed (indirectly) at the camera to prevent it from clicking over to night vision. If you typically stream in a regularly lit room, this webcam will work well for you. If you are streaming in a dark or semi-dark room with colored lights, you may experience problems.

Camera does not keep I color. Goes to black and white after a while
Used a few different camera applications, in windows 11 and. Linux, the camera does not stay in color. After about 30 minutes of use, it goes to black and white. The night vision is almost non existent, especially when it goes into black and white. Camera seems to be built sturdy. I do have it running at 1080p and it is recording 24/7.

Great night vision camera
Other night vision cameras are not as sturdy and high quality. This is very compact but works as well as much bigger more expensive cameras. I connected to a Raspberry PI mini-computer to feed a video stream and works great during day or night.

Great Camera, but IR lights reflect!
The camera worked exactly as described, and I highly recommend it if you need a IR-cut camera. The resolution and wide angle lens were awesome! Unfortunately for me, IR lights reflect on glass! I needed to use it indoors facing out through a window. It was great during daytime, but at night all I can see is a ring of lights reflecting back and blinding the camera.

USB channel problems and no autofocus
The USB cable is too long for USB a connections, under USB 3, it will work, but that also depends on how much other stuff you have talking on the same channel. Also missing an autofocus. In short, pass.

Solid infrared camera for custom pet-monitoring video stream
Out of the box, this is an OK infrared-capable webcam. It works well enough (with Linux, so points there), but it clicks audibly when switching back and forth between normal and infrared mode, depending on the amount of ambient light it detects. The light detector is also very sensitive which can lead it to switching back and forth in medium light, e.g. around dusk. Three stars, at this point. But! I emailed the company support team asking about the noise (it's a required part of the mechanical process of switching to IR mode) and they said that you can remove the infrared resistor to place the camera permanently in IR mode. Permanent as in "forever," since you have to physically remove or destroy the soldered-on blue resistor at the front bottom portion of the camera. Once I did that, the webcam stayed in IR mode, didn't make clicking noises, and I've been very happy with it. Four stars for the product, five for service. I'd definitely recommend ERP for affordable IR cameras!
