King Kooker WKA2 18-Inch Nickel Plated Skimmer

You know, it's rare that I'm super pleased with a product before I use it for it's intended function. This, however, is one of those times. This thing made me smile the minute I took it out of the package. It's built like a tank and does a very good job at straining all sorts of items across multiple applications. Stock straining - check. Hot pot strainer - check. Deep fat fried items - check. it's as easy to clean as any other strainer I've ever owned, but it's much sturdier than many. I have a lot of professional level kitchen items and this is right up there with the best of them in it's manufacturing and function. I would highly recommend this item.

My persnickety senior cats are set in their ways so we use the old Jonny Cat non-clumping litter. This 18" skimmer works perfectly for scooping out the dried "fecal matter," as Johnny Depp would call it! It's very sturdy, the litter falls through the holes while the ample sized scoop part holds the solid material when gently shaken before pulling it out of the box. The 18" length is a perfect length for reaching into my large covered box without having to lean too far over. I initially, mistakenly ordered the 36" skimmer, which was HUGE! Great service as I received a full refund and quickly delivered the 18" replacement.

The quality of this product is shockingly good. There's nothing flimsy about it. The metal wires of the basket are absolutely solid. They're not moving a fraction of an inch in any direction. The entire product is sturdy and I do believe this will last me for the rest of my life. The size is ideal for the home cook. The handle is long enough to get inside the deep fryers, but not so long that I can't fit it into a drawer. This is the best engineered, the best constructed skimmer that I've ever held in my hand and I am thrilled by the unexpected quality. So why only four stars? I cannot believe that I'm knocking down this utensil because of the sales sticker, but here I am. The sticker appears to be constructed with a ridiculous adhesive that's as good as the skimmer itself. I can attest that they didn't cut corners here either... darn it. They intended this sticker to STICK and it sure is sticking. At this moment I'm soaking the handle in goo-gone. It's never failed me before, so I'm sure it'll do the job without any more drama. I absolutely recommend that you buy this skimmer, but also buy some goo-gone while you're shopping. You're going to need it. (I may see if I can find out what the heck that adhesive is. I can use one that won't come off polished, smooth metal. My husband would have to do so much less welding.)

This is long enough to use in my 12 qt. stock pot when frying bacon. Super well made. Doesn't rust. Sturdy yet not too heavy. Great product. Highly recommended!

After 52 years of marriage I've decided to try recipes I've always put off. This is fabulous for my donuts that I make as per my grandmother's recipe. Nothing like a good fried homade donut that doesn't taste like cake
