Morgenstern Dressing Gown Men Waffle 100% Cotton Lightweight Kimono Bathrobe

Okay I was confused about conflicting reviews regarding the sizing so first off I'm going to clarify that. The sizes are a lot bigger than you would expect. I am a 44 chest but I have to buy 46 in shirts and 50 in suits because I can't stand anything being tight across my shoulders. I am 6ft and 245lb. Normally I would always ask for XXL and sometimes even that size can be small on me. With this purchase I gambled on what one reviewer said about the XL being bigger than normal and he was correct. So do NOT order a size up as another reviewer suggested. If in doubt go for the smaller size. Unless your gut is SUBSTANTIALY bigger than your chest then the XL will fit the majority of larger men. It has more than enough room for me. Branding - It is made in Germany but German friends I spoke to have never heard of it. Material - For the cost you could be forgiven for expecting more breathable "egyptian" cotton but I am unsure of how that would affect absorbency. The waffle patterning is understated yet utterly beautiful and I personally feel that it is this that creates the absorbency that is far greater than anyone would expect from such a lightweight material. The robe is lightweight but only just light enough to cope with the unusually warm evenings. It does not feel in any way "flimsy" like satin or silk would. In short, yes it's a bit on the pricey side for a lightweight cotton robe (if you can even FIND others that aren't terry cloth), but what you are getting is of a very high quality and many men will prefer the feel of this over the "wearing a blanket" effect of a standard dressing gown. You know you are wearing something beyond the ordinary when you wear this. Personally I'm VERY happy to have it.

Excellent robe, looks good feels good and comfortable to wear. Very good quality. This is my second morgenstern, a replacement for my original that I ruined. The original was navy and for this I fancied a different colour but the colour choice is so boring. Blokes like brighter colours too you know - purple orange yellow brighter green etc!! So from the colour choice and wanting a different colour got boring olive!

Lovely well made dressing gown, perfect fit, feels and looks quality

As the headline suggests, I found this to be a very comfortable, nicely sized and stylish dressing gown. It is very lightweight, and would fit easily into a case or bag (ideal for hospital stays). I ordered a 'Medium' size, and this turned out to be ideal for me - there is plenty of material to maintain modesty, and also good sizing on the length and arms. All in all I would say this was excellent value for money. (These are my own thoughts on an item I have purchased)

I bought this for my husband who is extremely hard to please. He loves the quality, the fit, overall length and colour . He is about 5 ft 5 with a big paunch but the Large was a perfect fit. We did turn the sleeve back one turn to create a cuff. He also likes how easy & accessible the pockets are. Phew ! I usually have to return gifts that I buy for him definitely not this time.

I ordered a large, expecting it to be very roomy because I think dressing gowns ought to be that way, and it's pretty much exactly what I hoped for. Very comfortable quality item with nice big pockets. It's light enough to be comfortable in summer but I think I'll be warm enough indoors in winter too. I worried it might shrink in the wash but it didn't so I'm very pleased with this. Highly recommended.

Really pleased with the quality. Unfortunately, I washed it as per the washing instructions for the first time, and it shrank considerably. So, when you purchase one for yourself, make sure that you buy one size bigger than you need.

Great product. Well made, comfortable and looks good. I am 1.83 m tall and have a 42 inch chest, so chose size Medium, which fits perfectly.
