Well worth the price
These workbench casters are a dream come true. I looked high and low at the big box stores and they had nothing even close to these. I have a work table that is constructed from two 4'x8' sheets of 3/4" plywood and framed with 2"x6"'s and 4"x4"'s in the middle and on the corners and weighs 250 lbs. These casters lift this table with ease. I can now move my table anywhere in my shop with ease. This helps in cleaning the area beneath the table and I can use my work table wherever in my shop I choose. The installation was simple and quick. 20 minutes after opening the box my casters were installed. Great product. I would definitely recommend these casters to anyone who needs to make their workbench or worktable mobile.

Good addition to a workbench without wheels
Work as advertised. It is nice to be able to add wheels to a work bench or table that allow it to sit firmly on the floor or be mobile. I feel like these are a bit overpriced, but it seems that most quality casters are fairly expensive so these are probably not too far out of line seeing as they are somewhat of a specialty item. Solidly made and fairly adaptable; these come with wood screws, but I installed mine on a steel work bench by drilling the legs and using 1/4-20 bolts with washers and nylon lock nuts. The end result is the same. Good product. It was actually slightly cheaper for me to purchase this from Amazon than directly from Rockler (the price for the product and shipping was the same, but no sales tax on Amazon when I purchased).

Best wheels to mobilize workbenches and shop equipment
I have installed these on two maple work benches (250 lb each), a custom cart that lifts my drill press (200 lb), and even on my router table and stand (200 lb) replacing the original poorly designed lifting system. I like these a lot. They are out of the way most of the time but easy to pop down to move equipment to a new site. Much better design than wheel systems that are always down and have some ineffective 'locking' system. The wheels are also soft enough for my shop's wood floor. I would have preferred them to be a little beefier all-around, but in practice have had no issues lifting 250 lb workbenches. For installation on hardwood legs (eg Maple) I typically discard the included screws and use 1/4" lag bolts, which are much easier to install and remove using a wratchet wrench. This greatly improves the overall experience. Installation on workbenches is easy. You can use with other equipment if you build the right custom base.

Rubber disintegrated after a few years
These worked fine, until the rubber on the wheels crumbled away, a few years ago, and I have not been able to find replacement wheels to fit. The only issue I had up until then was the trade-off between mounting them outside or inside the legs. Outside, it is easy to reach the lever to raise and lower, but they are easy to trip over (not only painful, but causing one corner of the the bench to accidentally lower). Inside is safe, but awkward to reach for raising and lowering. I did buy these a while back (2012), so *maybe* the quality of the rubber wheels has been addressed in more recently manufactured batches, but caveat emptor -- you may need to replace the entire unit after a few years. (By the way, I purchased two similar sets of a less famous name brand, and neither of those has yet failed.)

Carry the load
I purchased the casters for the workbench I just built. The bench is 6 feet wide and 24" deep and has base cabinets and a very solid 3" top with a vise. The casters allow me to wheel the bench from one end of my garage to the other easily and then simply lower it for work. I need to be able to move my tools and bench around so these casters were exactly what I needed. They are easy to install, easy to operate, and are well made. I would buy these again is a sec, and I may when I build my new router table. They may seem expensive, but trust me, they are perfect for moving around any large item on a hard floor.

Poorly designed
To actually get the lift offered by this product as advertised, the pedal needs to go about half of the way down. Not all the way! When disengaged in the up position the wheel does let your item down. When you press the pedal completely down, your item lifts at about the half way point, and then as you continue to place the pedal all the way down in a licking position as shown in the drawing, your item abruptly drops back down. It's a design flaw. I'm going to make the necessary adjustments so they will work. However, I can not endorse this product! The operational part of this product is first the pedal, then the wheels. It has a round part on the bottom of the pedal that was just made to small.

Allows for ease of movement for large workbenches!
My husband built a VERY heavy, very sturdy, large workbench for his tools and woodworking in the garage. He mounted these to the bottom, and when engaged, I can roll that monster all over with very little effort. When they are released, that joker sits sturdily on the ground and is immovable. All it takes is a little step on the latches and they are down and ready to roll. A must have for any similar application.

Good for Mobility
I bought these to put on a lathe stand and my computer kiosk. The wheels are good but I also bought the brackets so you have put the brackets on multiple tools and use the wheels on each tool. I think the brackets are a bit sloppy and make the wheels tend to wiggle in the mount so the tool being moved is a bit wonky due to the shifting position of the wheels. The Wheels directly attached to a single tool would probably work better. Even as is they work well enough.

These things are strong as hell. They easily support hundreds of pounds for weeks at a time, and glide silently while doing it. Wish I had more tables to add these too because they're so damn awesome.

Use sturdier lag screws, but definitely did the job as intended.
