You can easily lift the top part off and clean the inside with just some water. It lost one star because it detaches pretty easily, even if the soap sticks to it a little bit and you're trying to wash your hands. Also, the little handle broke from the rest of the design. It's still functional and the handle is still attached, but it cracked off of some of the leaf line designs. But these two things aren't bad enough that it should deter you from buying it.
