HENGDA KITE Large Power Snake Kites with Flying Line Outdoor Fun Sports Kite

We went to the beach and wanted a fun kite to fly around. It was easy to put together. It was really windy that day and the kite didn't fall apart. For its price point this is a solid kite. I liked the snake tail how it would flap around when you move it. This would be a cool gift for a kid that likes kites.

All kites seem to be made "cheaply" to me, meaning lightweight with fabric that tears easily, crappy attachment points, etc. While this one is not going to blow you away with it's ruggedness, it will certainly get the job done. It's higher quality than I expected, and sufficiently durable to hold up in a pretty strong wind. Flew it at the beach one day in steady 10-15MPH wind and it performed beautifully. Flew it the next day (much windier, 20MPH+) and the kite handled it fine. The tail is MUCH longer than I expected, and adds a really nice, fun element to the kite. Overall, definitely worth the price.

This thing is badass. We’ve been enjoying it for about a month now. Every kid that uses it loves it. It’s been hours of entertainment. The tail looks so cool blowing in the wind! I love how easy it was to set up.

First - the snake head is not 53" by 51" as described. (amazon needs to fix that) It's 43" by 40", so that was misleading. Second - the kite fabric is 100% ripstop nylon including tail, so that is good. It folds up into a small compact nice bag supplied, also good. The spars are like tent spars, complete with cord inside so they stay together when packed in the small bag. They are each in 3 pieces and not great quality and crooked, but sufficient if you keep it under 15 mph wind. My bigger problem with the spars are they're heavy for this size kite and not sized correctly - too long. This causes the snake head kite to bow towards you instead of away from you for stable flight. Thus it's erratic in the air. So. I'll adjust them to proper length if I want to pack them in the small case. Or just replace them with seperate good wood spars to also reduce some weight which is a better solution. I think the negative reviews surround the poor mismatched spars and people exceeding the wind speed. The kite build/sewing is pretty good. Although mine wasn't finished. I had to cut out the black nylon behind the brow, eyes and teeth so they would actually show up in the air. If you do this use fray-lock after you cut. All in all, you can tell is made in China, but better than I expected. But I have and made many kites and can fix it's flaws pretty easily to make it a fun really good looking kite:). Amazon - Please fix the misleading size though.

Awesome kite! Everyone admires it as it glides calmy through the sky. It's sturdy, make with great quality, and super easy to assemble. Totally worth it for the fun, flies great and definitely worth the money.

I really liked this kite! I flew it at the beach where there was a pretty steady strong wind. It took right off from my hand and never really had a problem. In a shifting wind or if the wind slows you have to watch it. It won't dive but it will just start sinking so you just need to reel it in to keep the line tight. I like that it was simple to carry, no strings to get tangled and I was easily able to get it back in the little bag it comes in. Some instructions would have been nice but its obvious where the sticks go and you just tie the loops over the sticks and then tail is pretty obvious where it ties on as well. You can just leave it all tied after you pull the sticks out and fold it up. A year later.... A rod broke while assembling on the beach. Be careful assembling in the wind. A gust came up and lifted the tip while I was holding the rod and it snapped. Not sure there is a replacement available so I'll need to find something that length to replace it.

The struts are poorly made and broke. The struts are foldable things like you get with tents. Would have been better with a less fancy approach - single, slightly bendable bamboo piece for example. Am planning to replace the broken struts with bamboo pieces. The kite is otherwise decently made. The tail is super long.

As advertised. Flies without adjustments, although best to have a more robust spool/winder

Came in good time . 10days early.on inspection had to resew velcro tip and resew cross bar tiedown. made a adjustment to the bridle knot and went to refly.IT FLEW GREAT! The color was very bright you could see it well. The kite tail was long and had good action. nice material.I had a lot of fun and so did the onlookers. I would buy another one.
