Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights Shampoo Blonde & Silver 16 Fl Oz

I am blonde and I love it! My hair is naturally a medium blonde, but I have been getting my hair professionally done in a salon for as long as I can remember to make my hair as blonde as possible. While I don't have all bleached like I used to, it's still almost as blonde as you can get. I am so sick of looking for the perfect shampoo for me. I want my hair BLONDE. I don't want it gold, I don't want it to look brassy, I want it blonde, blonde, blonde! I have tried so many shampoos, from really expensive to really cheap. An example is a bottle of Pureology shampoo that I bought for about $80 (it was a super big bottle). That is rather pricey. It made my hair look brassy, had a smell my boyfriend hated, and I didn't feel like it was nourishing my hair at all. One day when I ran out I tried my boyfriend's cheap-o Head & Shoulders Shampoo/Conditioner combo, and it gave me more shine and less brass than that ridiculously expensive shampoo. What??? While it's generally true that salon shampoos are better for your hair because they don't contain as much wax as the cheap ones (so says my hair colorist), that still doesn't mean an expensive brand is going to make your hair look any better than a cheap brand. And while I care about the health of my hair, I care equally, if not more, about the looks of it. With the good reviews of this product and the very decent price, I thought, "Why not?" Let's just say that it was a great decision! The color is a little shocking at first. It is a very deep purple - was not expecting that! It also has a very strong smell, kind of like you have been in a salon all day. I saw a very noticeable difference after I blow-dried compared to my last shampoo. My hair was soft, felt healthy, and it was NOT brassy. It brought some of the blondeness back to my hair and I loved it. Sometimes I can't get to the salon every 2 months to get my hair done. Sometimes my hair colorist is out of time, sometimes I'm lazy, and sometimes I am just too busy. I have been looking for the perfect shampoo that can keep my hair still looking shiny and fresh even if I'm a little late for my next treatment. And this is definitely it! Highly recommend if you're looking for a strong, shimmery shampoo that will help take out the brass and put the blonde back into your hair. UPDATE: Make sure that you get ALL of the shampoo out of your hair. I have really thick hair, and typically take a bath for this reason. If you can't get it all out, parts of your hair may look a little purplish-blue, especially the super blonde parts. It also turns my blondest hair a little silver, which is odd.

This smells really nice, the scent stays in the hair after you blow dry. If I were asked to describe what this smells like, I would say it is a dead on version of Clinique's Aromatics Elixir, only not as " in your face". I don't get the reviews that say that upon using it their hair turned purple. I used a lot of it because I have a lot of hair and while remnants of it were left in my nails I didn't find my hair to be purple at all. Perhaps those who said that, were using it daily, whereas I only wash my hair around twice a week. That's another thing. This made my hair SO clean. I had been using a sulfate free shampoo and it left my hair weighed down after a few uses (SF shampoo isn't compatible with silicone based products, just a FYI). Liking it so far.

This shampoo is my favorite. I am a natural blonde but die my hair every so often (a few times a year) just to give my color some new life, as blondes in the winter can get dull and dark. After getting my hair colored at a professional Salon that uses high-end products, such as Wella, my color specialist said to me not to buy the expensive, over priced color shampoo, but to go on Amazon and get Shimmer Lights. It was the best advice she could give me. Every time I use it, my color is refreshed and bright again. My roommate was using a $50 professional shampoo for her highlights, and this works the same, if not better than a professional salon product for colored hair. For any of you blondes who want to keep that beautiful color, I highly recommend this product for it's quality and price.

I waited to write a review on this until I used it at least a couple of times. To start, my natural hair is a med/dark brown that I have salon colored to a more light/auburn blonde with white blonde highlights. It is naturally very curly and frizzy so I get keratin treatments every 12 weeks. Because of this, my hair has a tendency to go very brassy in between colors. I talked to my stylist about options and the shampoo was one option although I opted to buy one online instead of purchasing the salon brand. The first time I washed my hair with this I left it on for about 5 mins, rinsed, and used a regular deep conditioner afterwards. My first impressions: my hair was noticeably less brassy. Not shockingly so but I definitely noticed a difference although not all of the brass was completely gone. I have keratin treated hair I only shampoo my hair about once a week and was slightly hesitant to use this but since I'm at the end of this treatment I didn't mind if it had any ill effects. My hair was pretty fuzzy after I used this shampoo, more so than my keratin shampoo and after I blow dried, it was even more fuzzy. I had to put a little more effort into styling and flat ironing in order to get it back to normal. The worst part of this first round was the smell. It isn't a bad smell but it is so strong! Highly fragranced and more like a musky perfume than anything else. It did not wash out with the rinse or conditioning afterwards either. I didn't wash my hair for 2.5 days and it still was as strong as when I first stepped out of the shower. My boyfriend hated it! Lol. The second time I used this, about a week later, I shampooed and left it on for about 5 minutes again. I then used my regular keratin shampoo and conditioner. Again, my blonde was noticeably less brassy and seemed even brighter this time. The normal keratin shampoo and conditioner seemed to help with the fuzziness but it was still pretty fuzzy. The second shampoo and conditioner seemed to help the smell though. It didn't smell at all this time and my boyfriend was definitely happier. Overall, this shampoo definitely works as a toning shampoo but the condition it leaves your hair in is not ideal for my hair type. I will finish off this bottle and maybe look for something a little less harsh.

Ich blondiere meine Haare regelmäßig und Töne sie danach(mit Wella 050 und Wella T14) um ein schönes Grau/Silber zu erhalten. Mit diesem Shampoo lässt sich der Effekt super aufrecht erhalten. Bisher das beste silbershampoo, dass ich je hatte. Dennoch erfordert es gute Pflege danach, d.h. Es trocknet schon aus.

el producto llegó rapidísimo, y realmente funciona. Me ayuda a que mi rubio no sea tan amarillo, sino más ceniza, y me mantiene el pelo así, cosa que me encanta. Un día incluso lo tuve más tiempo puesto, y las puntas (que son blancas) me las dejó lilas! pero a la que te lavas el pelo un par de veces con un champú normal, se va esa coloración. En resumen... lo volveré a comprar sin duda.

This is only an intial review, as I have only used this once, but so far I am really pleased! I have baby fine dark blonde/mousy hair, which I coloured with John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Medium Ash Brown about 9 weeks ago. It also has a lot of home done highlights in it. I obviously have red tones in my hair, because no matter what colour I dye it, it always ends up fading out to a horrible gingery colour. The medium brown has done this quite badly, and the highlights are not as noticeable as they were when I first put them in. They too are a gingery/golden colour. But... I used this purple shampoo for the very first time yesterday, and although it is subtle, there is a difference now. It doesn't look quite so gingery...it definitely looks better. What has shocked me though, is the body that it seems to have given to my fine hair!! I don't style it in any way. I just use three styling products and then rough dry it with my fingers and a hairdryer. After using this shampoo, it appears brighter, more volumous and even my slight natural waves are really noticeable! I didn't expect that!! The smell of the shampoo is very noticeable, but I personally don't find it a horrible smell....to my snozzle, it just smells clean, and quite nice (and I really dislike strong smells usually). I asked my hairdresser about it last week, and she said that it should help, and recommended to leave it on for 15 minutes. She said that the conditioner was not really needed, but after asking about it on the Amazon questions, I decided to order it as a sort of afterthought, although it was more expensive to buy them separately. The general consensus seems to be that the conditioner also does quite a good job of taking away brassiness. What I did: - Washed with the shampoo and rinsed - Put more shampoo on and left for 15 minutes while I had a nice long shower, shaved my legs etc - Thoroughly rinsed my hair (you've gotta' get all of this shampoo out or it might stain your pillowcases or towels purple!) - Used my new Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime conditioner Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Diamond Colour Intensive Mask 200 ml for 1 minute - Used my Tangle Teaser Tangle Teezer Salon Elite Professional Detangling Hairbrush Pink brush to get the tangles out UPDATE: The conditioner arrived, so I gave it a go. I can still clearly see that these products brighten and lighten highlights, but I don't see that the conditioner added any extra brightness. Just something to be aware of...you do need a good 30 minutes if you are going to use both the shampoo and the conditioner (following my hairdresser's advice to leave the shampoo on for 15 minutes). This involves shampooing, rinsing, shampooing again and leaving on for 15 mins, thorough rinsing, conditioner on for 5 mins, even more thorough rinsing, then making sure that you give the shower a good spray over to make sure that it doesn't turn purple! This is a long time to spend in the shower. You can't really get out and do anything, because both products are going on wet hair (not towel dried), so you would be dripping purple product all over the place. I am still really pleased with the results, and the body that it has given my hair. You will DEFINITELY need some kind of detangling brush though. My hair was even more tangled after using the conditioner. UPDATE: Have used both the shampoo and the conditioner several times now, and am still really pleased with the result, despite the fact that i have dyed my hair again and put more highlights in.
