The screen needs to be removed with the lid to pour from the pitcher, but it seems odd to put the screen back in after removal. Otherwise the lid doesn't securely fasten to the top of the pitcher without the screen in place, the best you can do is just sort of set it on top loosely. The pitcher pour spout is so small it might as well have not been put in at all. Air tight lid on both the mesh filter and the regular lid, sturdy glass, excellent shape and size that fits perfectly in the fridge / handle and all and a super fine mesh filter that is 360. of mesh - so the exposure to the coffee is perfect and faster than the others... and NO grounds in the coffee. I grind my own beans on coarse setting.
