This is working great for me
I put some sand in the bottom to protect it and it works great. No worries about flying ash. It's also a nice size and looks attractive.

Best Fire Pit around
All that's needed in a patio fire pit. Well made, plenty large enough, goes together quickly with stainless steel hardware. It's sturdy, draws air, screens out fly ash, and the top is easily lifted and reset with the included combination poker-top hook. The deep well holds plenty of firewood completely within it, unlike those fancy flatter ones with the decorated borders around the pit. It's really nice looking as well. And it's safe to use. No logs are going to come rolling out of it as the fire burns and shifts. You can sure spend more money on one of these but you can't build a better fire than with this one. DO get the custom fitting $23.98 Landmann USA 29300 Big Sky Fire Pit 30 inch diameter Cover to go with it. We put (4) 11.5" concrete paver blocks down on our concrete patio as an elevated base and heat sink, upon which we set it. The instructions do not call for filling the bottom plate with sand and we let the ash accumulate to an inch or two to build our fires upon. There are no holes in the bottom for draining rainwater and if you get the cover you'll never have a rusty mess to deal with. This same model is sold under different names for higher prices but Amazon Basics is the best buy.

Surprisingly Good Fire Pit. Well done!
I waffled back and forth for about a month on whether or not to get this fire pit or one of the slightly more expensive Landmann ones. I decided to take a chance on this one. So I set it up this past weekend for a gathering. The chance I took paid off. Let's start with the positives. This was very easy to assemble. There were no missing parts or bent pieces. And unlike for some reviewers, there were definitely holes in the bottom for the legs. After put together, I was actually kinda surprised by its size. It's bigger than I expected. It's also light and sturdy. It's not so light that it feels cheap either. The mesh top also does its job and protects from sparks and pops and all that. All in all, very very nice. Now for the lone negative. The poker is not good. It's a two-piece poker that screws in the middle. And it's flimsy. Seemed to get worse as the night went on. I actually plan on buying a different poker. Also to note, the next day while cleaning the pit I noticed that a small spot inside had peeled paint. This is absolutely not an issue since is was so small, and I also plan on painting the pit with with some high-heat paint. I also used some sand in the bottom. Clean-up would have been better if there was a hole for drainage, but honestly it's not necessary and overall clean-up wasn't bad. At the end of the day, the fire pit surprised me very much. It's far better than I expected. Nothing warped or bent from the fire (unless you count the poker, which was bending due to just using it, which is also the reason I took a star off. yes, it's that bad). Big, solid and sturdy. Worth a purchase.

A Winner!
I've been in search of an affordable, attractive fire pit both locally and online, and this one fits the bill perfectly. It is nicer looking than the picture can actually portray; very sturdy (I liked the leveling feature on the legs); and came with the log grate, fire screen and the tool, as described. The fire screen is actually a better quality than I anticipated at this price point and there was no damage whatsoever to any parts thanks to a LOT of styrofoam packing! (Okay, I hate the stuff, but it does what it's supposed to do!) The surround is beautiful and provides an ample shelf for holding mugs of hot cocoa or wine glasses. The brass diamond insets are flush with the stone overlay and provides a stable surface that does not become hot to the touch. The bowl is removable and makes for easy cleanup. Assembly was very easy. I'm very happy with this Amazon fire pit. It looks quite elegant.

Very nice firepit!
Impressive build quality all around. Heavy duty construction, leveling feet, and the stone and copper design looks great and held up during shipping. Be warned that there's some assembly required. I strongly recommend using a firepit cover as I imagine the bowl and screen would rust up very easily. Used this once so far with a fire burning 5 hours and the bowl and ember screen are still in excellent condition. For emptying ash, I just popped out the bowl, dumped the ash, and put it back in. Most of the weight is in the frame rather than in the bowl, making ash-dumping an easy venture. One thing that surprised me was how cool this fixture stays when burning. This is due to the fact that the bowl is suspended by 4 metal pegs coming out of the frame; not much ability for the heat to transfer from the bowl to the frame. I bought some landscaping bricks to put under the feet and protect my wood deck, but it turns out these were entirely unnecessary. I like the extra height the bricks give to the pit, though, so I don't regret purchasing them. In addition to the firepit, I bought some accessories for it, both of which I'm happy with: Classic Accessories Hickory Heavy Duty Round Fire Pit Cover - Durable and Water Resistant Patio Cover, Small (55-199-012401-EC) MR. BAR-B-Q Large Round Cooking Grate with Folding Legs, Silver Very happy with the purchase. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful, Sturdy -- Very Pleased!! Feels & looks much more expensive than it was:))
I shopped around locally and on Amazon for awhile before settling on ordering this firepit for the price point as well as the look I wanted. Very pleased with this choice. It's simply lovely. Have used it several times so far this summer, works wonderfully many a s'more and singing and story telling has already been had around it. It's very sturdy, with a beautiful mosaic design inlaid into the surround. Came with a screen, and grill grid, as well as a rod for poking the fire. I would deduct 1 star for packaging, as it came in a severely banged up box, as well as no instructions for assembly and it looked as if some of the parts were used (the grill grid was covered in ashes and soot) However I'm going to keep it at 5 stars AS! I bought it from Amazon Warehouse deals area at a reduced price. Overall, very pleased. Looking forward to much more fun around the fire evenings :)) As an added FYI -- in the past I had a fire pit that wore out quickly sitting in the weather and rain -- this go around I purchased a cover for when not in use, as well as to preserve the tiles in place. This one fits this fire pit perfectly, and is very sturdy and water resistant for a great price: Classic Accessories 58992-EC Terrazzo Fire Pit Cover, Round

For a BASIC firepit, it's worth the price!
I bought this fire pit in January 2015 and have been enjoying it for many, many evenings since! Pros: Mesh top keeps sparks/ash from flying up Long poker works well for moving logs around and for taking the top off Very lightweight and easy to move Cons: Does not come with holes in the bottom for drainage- you'll have to drill some This is a *BASIC FIREPIT*. It's going to rust, and if you don't have a cover for it, it'll fall apart in a year easily. YOU MUST HAVE A COVER! Firepit is rather deep, which can make getting all the ashes out a pain (I wait until they're cool then tip the whole thing into an ash bucket) Mesh on the top rusts quickly even if the firepit is under a cover, just from humidity You'll have to paint this with high-heat paint every year to keep it from rusting through (I use Krylon High Heat Max Special Purpose Aerosol 12 oz. Black , one can of this is probably going to last through three years or more) For the price I paid ($100 plus $15 for a firepit cover), it's definitely been worth it so far. I have a smallish patio (15'x20') and it's a great size- big enough to have a good fire but small enough to have four or five chairs around and light enough to move out of the way when not using. If I owned my house I'd want something larger and more substantial but since I'm just renting this will do fine for now. UPDATE JUNE 2016: Still looking good, still going strong. I do have to hit the screen with a coat of fire resistant paint every couple of months but I would expect to have to do that with any screen that wasn't straight up stainless steel.
