I was looking for a blood pressure cuff and scope so that I could practice vital signs at home since I am going through a Nurse Assistant class right now and had absolutely no idea how to do blood pressure. I didn't want anything too expensive but wanted something that would last. I chose this one since it was not only my favorite color but was the least expensive. I got quite the surprise when I took it into class (the valve on the cuff wouldn't close and I needed my instructor to look at it before I sent it back, but it was a really easy fix and is fine now...) and I found out that this is the same exact cuff and scope that are used in my class. My instructor even said that this would be the only scope and cuff I would ever need, even as I proceed through nursing school and further into my career. It even comes with the zippered carrying case, I hadn't expected that. I purposely waited a while to write this review to see if it would break down on me and it hasn't. I am very impressed. I have used it quite a bit and even my 3 and 4 year old boys have messed with it and it has survived. Definitely would buy it again if needed!

This kit is far from professional, but it works fine. The materials used for this product are ok, but attachments that come with it are joke. They are made of cheap plastic and some of them are so badly made that they are actually crooked.Anyway, I was trained to use blood pressure kits like these one, but I can see how some people can find it hard to use. Using it can be tricky, for example, I can clearly hear my own pulse and I can read my blood pressure perfectly, but I find it little bit difficult to read my wife's blood pressure. I believe that this is because some people have weaker pulse than others, but I can be wrong.If you never used manual blood pressure kit and you are looking for something easy and hustle free to use, make yourself a favor and buy digital blood pressure monitor.I bought this kit for light use - once or twice a month, but I can't see this cuff and stethoscope surviving extensive use on a daily basis. However, I knew what I am buying so I am happy with it so far.

I really like the color, it's truly a gorgeous purple. It's al little brighter than shown in the picture, but it makes the color more rich looking.It also comes with extra parts and pieces which is great in case you lose any or you want to change the ear pieces to black instead of clad.The cuff is great because it is a full Velcro cuff that is like the ones in the doctor's office versus some of the cheaper cuffs that don't wrap around the arm all the way, instead they wrap around the metal bar and then you pull it to the arm size. Basically, those cheaper ones would never be used or accepted in clinical practice, but mine would be.I also really like the stethoscope because it also has a bell so you can listen to pediatric hearts and for murmurs. A lot of the other cuffs at this price don't have a bell so it indicates how cheap they are, especially compared to mine. I was a little hesitant because I saw the double tubing and wasn't sure how normal that was to have in practice, but it's fine and works great! I definitely bought a better cuff than some of my friends, that's for sure!!!

I ordered these a month before I took my EMT course. Half way through the course we were required to use the Stethoscope and cuff to learn how to take BPs. In addition, we had one week to collect vitals from 10 individuals. So I really needed this equipment. The pressure gauge on the cuff did not work. I didn't have time to return it so it really put me in a bind. Thank goodness for the local fire department that let me use their equipment. I know I should have checked this equipment out after I received it and not wait until I needed it. Very poor quality. If you do buy it make sure you try it out right after you receive it.
