On long trips however the extra protection is appreciated. I like knowing the camera is covered/safe to protect it from drops, hits, etc. But when it is being used for a long period of time it is in my hand, and the case just sits idle. It would be nice if there was some provision on the case to attach it to your pants/belt since it does not collapse and then you have this big molded case that you have to lug around somehow... sort of a PITA..... The strap is great. Neck straps scream 'tourist' and just don't work that well for me. However, the hand-strap is really nice as it gives a sense of firmness and security when holding the camera. Really happy with it--- Sony as always makes a great quality product. Review: Leather case - The case and strap are well made. The case fits my Sony Cybershot camera like a glove with no space to spare. That makes it convenient protection from light rain or abrasion without adding a lot of bulk, but it does have some drawbacks. The cord fits on the camera, not the case, so when the case comes off you need to hold it or risk dropping it. Wonderful addition to the HX 300. Excellent product. Easy to use. Open the velcro cover and the camera is exposed. Slip your hand into the grip and start taking pictures. Couldn't be easier.
