Delightful and witty account of this legend of stage and screen with a good deal of information about his wartime service and psychic abilities/experiences.

A little hard going to begin with but I pushed through and it is certainly a very interesting insight in to his early life, influences and career. Quite funny too. I recommend it.

Alec's Guinness autobiography is a collection of selected memories and reflections, organised around a chronology. Not a must read, since the author refrains from any consideration or observation that may allow the reader a glimpse of his own personality. I personally found it interesting as a source of sociological analysis on the incorporation of values and the struggle to come to terms with one own's humble origins. Not much of his sarcasm and humour transpires. Yet when it does, often between the lines, it is rather pungent and quite witty.

Wasn't sure if this book was available, so it was great to find a copy in such good condition. Arrived earlier than anticipated, so even better!

This book gives you tour for Alec Guinness's live. It's a enjoyable reading full of dramatic and very funny stories. Alec's live, was as rich and interesting as his memorable performances.

It's a great read.

I bought this as a gift for a friend who only reads non fiction. He enjoyed it.
