Review: Wonderful product ! - I have used this for 2 years. Very effective. Much better than Preen. I don't like mulch because it is expensive, has to be replaced about every two years, and moves into my lawn when it rains. In the places I placed it two years ago, still no weeds except the occasional dandilion or other big weed variety. I did not reapply this year in several places without any weeds so I'll see what the Spring season brings. I'll try to remember to update the review. Great product!

**Q: What are the spreader settings for a scotts edge guard spreader?**
A: As per Anderson's Customer Service: Low rate - 5; Medium rate - 6; High rate - 7 3/4 (For Scotts Broadcast Spreader with Edgeguard.)

**Q: When should I put it down**
A: In the late winter or early spring. Crabgrass and other annual weeds that you are trying to prevent often germinate after several days with soil temperatures (NOT air temperatures) being around 55 degrees. The microbes in the soil are what break down this pre-emergent and since microbes in the soil are fairly dormant in cold weather, that means you can put this down early, well before the soil reaches 55 degrees and the pre-emergent herbicide will still be active when the soil reaches the temperatures where annual weeds start to germinate. This does not kill the seeds, it stops root development as the seeds germinate so the weed/plant does not reach a stage where it will emerge from the soil and grow. Many lawn care professionals put down their pre-emergent herbicides when the soil temperatures are in the 35-45 degree range to prevent weeds. Oddly, I have yet to see anybody state an actual temperature for the soil as a guide to apply pre-emergence herbicides in he fall...?  Keep in mind this will prevent plants from growing, so if you are planning on putting down new grass seed or overseeding to thicken growth in your lawn, this will also prevent desirable plants and grass from germinating as well.

**Q: Can this be used on Zoysia Grass????**
A: Yes this may be used in established Zoysia.

**Q: Does it prevent crabgrass**
A: Yes - this product is very effective in the prevention of crabgrass and other weeds as listed on the product label.
