Do you have to shake it to get the snow moving or is there a fan as well as a light (re batteries)?

You have to shake the globe by hand to get the snow moving. I prefer this & a music winder as more traditional(Have bought battery operated globes too for other children in the family but like the old fashioned way!) The little lights are very pretty though which are battery operated. A lovely globe! Hope this helps!
