Good for soap making
This sodium hydroxide is excellent for homemade soap making. It’s pure, consistent, and works exactly as expected, allowing for smooth and successful saponification. I appreciate the quality and reliability, which are crucial for safe and effective soap production. It’s easy to measure and handle when proper safety precautions are followed, and it produces great results in both bars and specialty soaps. Overall, this is a dependable and essential ingredient for anyone making soap at home.

Great for Food and Soap
Fabulous for soapmaking. Easy to use without risking unnecessary exposure, dissolves well, good quality. My soap set up great. I've also made pretzels with it and it is perfect for that as well. Works super well and is a decent deal for the amount!

Great for pretzel making.
Used this to make some authentic Bavarian pretzels. Like that pub style large dark pretzel you can only usually get at Octoberfest festivals or similar events. This stuff worked perfect for the getting the pretzels that signature dark brown crisp outer crust.

Great quality and food grade, just be careful when using!
High quality product, very pure and great value for money. Dissolves easily and the container is Child-resistant for safety, but also easy to open for being child-resistant. I use this for adjusting the pH of liquid supplement blends when necessary and as a result wanted to ensure I had a food grade product. I also use this when making pretzels, as I believe it makes a superior product to using something like baking soda. Do be careful when using this product, in raw form I would recommend wearing gloves and splash-proof goggles. Sodium Hydroxide is a great product when used as intended, but as a very strong base it can be very dangerous when used haphazardly.

Good Result, but Soap Turned Out Darker Than Expected
I used this caustic soda to make homemade soap, and it worked really well — the texture and consistency were perfect. However, the final color of the soap came out much darker than I expected. Overall, I’m happy with the result, but I wish it looked a bit lighter.
