Surpassed All Expectations!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Powerful Performance in a Cordless Package! I recently purchased the EGO Power+ CS1604 16-Inch 56-Volt Cordless Chainsaw, and I can confidently say this tool deserves every bit of the hype. EGO has done an impressive job of delivering a battery-powered chainsaw that performs like a gas chainsaw without the hassle, fumes, and noise! What Stands Out 1. Power and Precision The 56-volt battery packs a punch! I was pleasantly surprised at how easily this chainsaw handled medium-sized trees and thicker branches. The 16-inch bar is the ideal size for both larger tree limbs and smaller yard cleanup. Whether you're trimming trees, cutting logs, or dealing with post-storm debris, this saw has the muscle to get through it without the fuss of fuel and oil. 2. Impressive Battery Life and Charging The included 5.0Ah battery is robust and provides about 60 minutes of runtime under regular use, which is enough to complete most yard projects. EGO's fast charger is excellent, getting the battery back to full charge within 40 minutes, which minimizes downtime. This is perfect if you’re tackling a larger project that might require multiple charging cycles. Plus, the battery is compatible with other EGO tools, which is a big plus if you’re already in their ecosystem. 3. User-Friendly and Well-Balanced The design is lightweight yet durable, and the ergonomics make it comfortable to handle even during extended use. At around 12 pounds, it’s heavy enough to feel substantial but light enough to prevent arm fatigue. EGO’s attention to balance helps keep the saw steady, which makes it easier to get straight, accurate cuts. The tool-free tension adjustment is also a convenient feature, allowing for quick and easy chain adjustments while on the job. 4. Quiet Operation Wow! Compared to a traditional gas chainsaw, this EGO model is exceptionally quiet. It’s still powerful, but you can use it early in the morning or late in the day without annoying your neighbors—or risking hearing damage from the excessive noise gas models can produce. It’s also easier to start; no pulling cords or priming required—just push a button, and you're ready to go. A Few Drawbacks to Note Initial Cost: While the price may seem a bit high compared to some gas models, I find the ease of use, the lack of maintenance, and the overall performance justify the investment. Battery Runtime for Larger Jobs: If you have extensive cutting to do, you may need a second battery, which I had, and ending up needing for the job I had. The included 5.0Ah battery works well for most standard tasks, but larger, continuous jobs will drain it faster. Final Verdict The EGO Power+ CS1604 is a game-changer for homeowners who need a powerful yet quiet and eco-friendly chainsaw. It’s efficient, easy to use, and incredibly convenient for both beginners and seasoned users alike. With its cordless freedom, reliable power, and fast recharge time, this chainsaw is a solid addition to any home tool arsenal. Highly recommend for those looking to skip the gas chainsaw hassle but still get the same performance! Would I buy it again? Absolutely. It’s a top-notch tool that makes yard work feel less like work.

Really, Really Nice!
I used an Echo 14inch gas saw for 40 years so when it finally gave it up last year I needed to replace it. I've read a lot about battery-operated vs gas and for my needs (an acre with surrounding forest where I do modest trimming and some tree felling) a battery-operated version seemed fine. More research led me to this EGO. I wanted the 5amp battery for more power and longer cutting. I haven't had a chance to seriously test battery life, but I have used the saw enough to really, really like it. On power, yes, it might have less power than a gas saw, but for my needs this has plenty of power. I love the significantly lower noise, that it shuts off whenever you’re not cutting, that you don’t have to keep gas around, mix and add it. Basically, I like everything about a battery-power saw, and this EGO seems like a winner. It’s hard to argue with 80% 5-star ratings and only 4% 1-star (of over 450 ratings). The owner’s manual says to operate at full speed, probably because this helps prevent kickback, but electric motors operate a full torque at even low RPMs. So, where you used to rev the gas engine to full rotational rate (and, hence full power) before you start the cut, you don’t need to do that with an electric. You can wait to go full-on until the saw has touched the wood. This seems to me much safer. For all you hard-line, battery-powered can't measure up to gas die-hards out there, just do it. Unless you need to cut down a forest, you won't regret going green. Just pick a saw with plenty of battery power, like the 5amp version of this EGO. An all around great switch to battery-operated and an excellent choice in EGO.

Works Great - Pays for Itself
I bought the EGO 16” Chainsaw (CS1604 version) on Amazon a couple of weeks back. Yesterday (9/29/2023), my 2 sons and I cut down and cut up into logs and into burnable branches 2 holly trees, one being about 35 feet tall and having about a 14” base and one being about 20 feet tall with about a 12” base. This saw worked great on little half inch and 1 inch branches, as well as cutting the core logs between 3” to 12” thickness. I was very surprised by how well it did work. My forearm and wrist also didn’t get sore from holding the saw which was nice. Through out my life I always used mixed gas based chainsaws and like many people gave up on them after much frustration finding it impossible to get them started a second and third time and keeping them running no matter how much care I took (very frustrating). For residential home use this EGO 16” chainsaw is perfect and it adds to my EGO collection as I already use the EGO blower with 5.0 battery, so now I have 2 batteries I can rotate from the device to the charger and back again which is perfect for keeping work from being interrupted. The only issue you will have with this EGO chain saw, which is common on all chain saws, is the chain loosens over time on the bar and eventually pops off. When that occurs you must take off the side cover, clean out the gunk, get the chain back on the bar, then get the chain back on the drive wheel, then adjust the tension nob, then replace the side cover. This happened to me about 15 times over the course of about 3 hours of work. Don’t worry, you will get good at it over time. I feel EGO has made this process as simple as it can be made so no heart burn there. Once you learn the saw and learn the best way to tension the chain, this all gets easier. Again, this is a common process to every chainsaw but EGO has made it pain free as possible. It also goes through the Oregon bar oil — plan something like 1/2 to 1 quart used up in the chainsaw per 3 hours of work time. You need to constantly be checking the oil level as it goes away quicker than you think. The biggest mistake I made when I bought this chainsaw is I didn’t order the bar oil and I didn’t order extra chains. If I was to do it all over again I would buy the EGO CS1604 version again, and 1 gallon of Oregon bar oil, and 2 extra chains all at the same time. I’m so glad I bought this — would highly recommend for DIY home users. Once you remove one or two big trees on your property and get them cut up and limbs burned or chipped, then you’ve paid for the chainsaw vs. hiring out to a tree removal service, and now you get to keep a great tool for next time.
