There are plenty that use adapters(or bluetooth). To be clear, these come with two cords. One is a lightning to 3.5mm cable (one plugs into the headphones and the other into the player/device) The other is a 3.5mm to 1/4 inch headphone jack. As with the other, one end plugs into the headphones and one into a device. The headphones themselves have inputs for both 3.5mm and 1/4 inch jacks so, the 3.5 to 1/4 cord can be used for input from either connection type as a source. Therefore, these headphones can be used for devices requiring Lightning connector, 3.5mm or 1/4 inch headphone jacks. I bought these for my Mom and, she loves them. Sound quality seems good. I listened to a variety of genres (hip/hop, metal, rock, jazz) through an iPhone SE and iTunes. These were all CD rips. I would like a little more bass response but, they are totally fine and, it could just be the platform. Overall, if you want a pair of headphones that will plug into a device via a lightning cable, these will do the job well. Comfort is good but they sit a little tight on my ears. It's minor and I feel certain that they would stretch over time. I also have a larger than average hat size so it's probably not an issue for most people. The cushions over the ear are soft and excellent.
