## Description

The Ripple folding pocket knife has become the anchor of the popular "gentleman's tactical" knife series from Ken Onion and CRKT. These stainless steel handle versions ride low profile due to the considerate clip position and are designed to be used as an everyday carry pocket knife. With their distinct look these knives will complement the refined taste of the distinguished gentleman. They slide in and out of a suit pocket easily and are also comfortable at home in your jeans in the garage.Stylish curves and smooth flowing lines help to create the Ripple effect that defines the look of the handle. These distinctive frame locks feature an ambidextrous blade flipper for easy opening. The flipper style opener moves the blade with ease thanks to the smooth IKBS pivot system. The IKBS innovation is arguably the strongest, smoothest pivot system on the market. The Ripple modified drop point blade with its high hollow grind affords the user a razor sharp edge with plenty of utility to cut across a wide variety of everyday tasks.Specifications:Blade Length: 2.78" (70.61 mm)Edge: PlainSteel: Acuto 440Blade Finish: SatinBlade Thickness: 0.1" (2.54 mm)Grind: HollowClosed Length: 3.76" (95.5 mm)Open Length: 5.56" (141.22 mm)Weight: 2.3 oz (65.2g)Handle: Gray Titanium Nitride Coated 420J Stainless SteelStyle: Folding Knife with Locking Liner

    Great Folder

*by C***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2014*

If I didn't own the CRKT Onion Eros, I would have given this little dude 5 stars, but this knife is only a rough country cousin of the Eros. It takes a flick of the wrist to get it to fully open if you apply ANY finger pressure to the sides and the lock takes about twice the pressure to push aside to close the blade, with some minor resistance felt as the blade rubs against the side of the lock. Also the body of the knife is titanium oxide coated stainless steel rather than solid titanium, which adds about an ounce of weight to a knife that is one inch shorter closed, but again this is in comparison to Ken's state-of-the-art Eros, at almost 30% more hard-earned dinero. My comparison is also using brand new knives. I expect that after the break-in period, the Ripple will lose some of the friction and function better. The only real negative is that it is not manufactured or assembled in the United States.I bought both the CRKT Eros and Ripple at the same time, and while the Ripple fails to compare to the more expensive Eros, its design, materials and quality build do compare very favorably to other folders in its price range. I do not regret purchasing this knife at all and will value it along with my other Onion-designed or built knives...I'll just carry the Eros. I can recommend it as having typical CRKT quality and Ken Onion design, with attractive, contemporary styling...all in all, a knife well worth the $75-$80 you are going to pay for it. I expect the Ripple design will continue to be manufactured by CRKT and will only get more expensive over time, so get one now while they are still under $100.00!

    Nice EDC

*by B***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2015*

I took advantage of a lightning sale to buy this blade. I usually buy Kershaw, Benchmade and some custom. I saw Ken Onion associate himself with this and I'm glad I got it. The good: Thin, solid construction. Blade is scalpel sharp, high grade steel. The point is perfect and the blade itself is centered. The clip side handle springs inward as a liner lock would. After a drop of oil, I found it to flip open to locking position with an easy push of the flicker. The cons: As I have noticed with the Kershaws of China, the clip has one position. Luckily for me, it's point down, spine out. The clip had too much tension out of the box. I would have ripped my nylon Columbia pants had I not opened the gap to just touching as opposed to needing what felt like 20 pounds of force necessary to clip it on before. Makes for a smooth presentation. Those are the only cons of this knife. I would buy another when the time comes easily.

    Alien-esque

*by P***Z on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2017*

It was my edc knife until I lost it during my last fishing trip. The deployment is crisp. Maybe a little small for some but it can handle simple tasks. The scales are a little rough and unconventional. Think of the movie "aliens". That's what it reminds me of. I bought it during one of the lightning deals. Would I buy it again at regular retail price? Maybe not. Time to move on to the next edc knife.
