I was reading that this can be used to dissolve PLA and help clean the brass tips, has any one any experience with this product in doing so?

It does work if you soak the tip for 15 minutes or more. The solvent action is visible as you see small speckles of the resin being dissolved and lifting away. I did use a brass wire brush and needle to pick out the last remaining after resoaking. I'm sure it will dissolve better if left soaking for a longer time. But do this with plenty of ventilation. The solvent smells like a nasty pipe solvent for cementing pvc and abs.

Have you ever used it for a PLA "smoothing" or making PLA shine like ABS uses acetone?

We are in the process of doing this now. Need new glass jar as ours broke on hot plate. Initial result was not fantastic. It's smooth but you see lines from build layers. We need to try again.

is the TFH stabilized with BHT?

Nothing on the bottle indicates that it is stabilized. I assume that it is not stabilized.
