Basic clock: simple to use, tiny and quiet
This is a no frills alarm clock: quiet, easy to read on a nightstand and simple to set. Use the knobs on the back to set time and alarm, topside tab to activate/deactivate alarm and insert a single AA battery on the backside. It doesn’t get any simpler than that. One reviewer mentioned the tick was annoying. However, I can’t hear the tick unless in a quiet room with the clock within a few inches of my ear. Placed a couple feet away on a nightstand it is essentially silent. Also, the alarm—a piercing and rapid beep—is loud and few could sleep through it unless drugged or drunk! However, if the battery is low, the clock keeps time well but the alarm volume drops off considerably. A single AA lasts about a year. The only slight gotcha is the luminous hands and numbers fade to nothing faster than other luminous clocks and watches I’ve owned. I actually travel with this little guy. My iPhone has every bell and whistle but this Casio is always visible at the side of my bed. No need to tap or caress just to see the time. It’s low tech but but does exactly what I need.

Does the Job
Other than the color scheme, we've owned several clocks identical to this Casio. I've used them as bathroom clocks, desk clocks etc. last for 10 years or more. They work flawlessly; the time is very easy to set; the alarm is very easy to set (and turn off); they operate on cheap AA batteries---they are just about the perfect small portable clocks. If the power goes off in the night, the alarm still wakes you at the right time. EXPENSIVE ALARM CLOCKS Like many other folks, my wife bought several very expensive "atomic" clocks, which, in fact never adjusted itself for the correct time, always shifted to daylight savings on the wrong date (and couldn't be corrected) and (thankfully) died after a few years. These replaced the "simple" clocks for those few years--unfortunately she discarded the still working simple clocks. AS TRAVEL ALARM CLOCKS These are perfect travel alarms, not only because they weigh nothing, but also because if you accidentally leave one behind, its no big deal. If you buy one specifically as a travel alarm, you might consider the bright red version (harder to leave behind) CONS In this model there are luminescent bars on the hands, and matching blue-green numbers. However, the luminescence of the hands is weak, and the numbers are NOT luminescent. Still it works well enough to check the time in the middle of the night without turning on the lights. Being a simple manual analong clock, there's no "snooze" button, you've got to push up the alarm bar each night before you go to bed, and manually make any daylight-savings or time-zone adjustments. In my opinion, no big deal, and far easier than dealing with expensive electronic horrors which claim to do everything. Yes, it does tick (if you hold it to your ear), but from 2' away I cannot hear it. SETTING THE TIME/ALARM There is one knob for setting the time. The normal position is for changing the alarm time. Pull the knob out a little, and you can change the current time. Push it back in when done. It used to be that all clocks and watches worked this way, so this is second nature for geezers like me, but I understand that some young folks might get confused. HOW TO GET THE LONGEST LIFE The thing that will probably kill your Casio is a leaking battery. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, everyone knew that you had to remove the batteries from your equipment when it wasn't in use. Leaky batteries were such a problem battery companies improved their product and guaranteed to replace any electronics damaged by their leaking batteries. No surprise, the improved batteries never leaked. But now you can't remove the batteries from most equipment when not in use, the electronics are much more expensive, and a large percentage of batteries are leaking again. You can't stop batteries from leaking, but you can improve your odds by buying the best brands. In addition, you can protect your battery contacts from light leakage with silicon grease. Silicon grease will also improve and protect contacts already damaged by leakage. Permatex 22058 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease, 3 oz. Excellent alarm clock * BUT prominent ticking sound.
In over a year's use, I've found this alarm clock to be: -Very accurate in keeping time and going off when the alarm hand is set using the INNER markings on the clock face. -Easy to set both the time and the alarm. -The alarm button is highly visible when the alarm is set and can be physically checked in the dark because it also sticks up from the clock. -The alarm is loud enough to wake me up even when wearing ear plugs. -I find it to be a satisfyingly stylish design and very stable on my nightstand. -Difficult to read in the dark because the points on the clock face only glow faintly and only after being exposed to light fairly recently. *The only real problem I have with this alarm clock is that it actually makes a pretty loud ticking sound. When I first got it, it was noticeable but not too bad. By a year later, it had become loud enough to distract me when I coudn't fall asleep or when I was reading in bed. If you like to hear a ticking clock, this will be a bonus for you. But if you're not used it the ticking could be a deal breaker. I wish there was a silent version of this clock that was identical in every other way. For me the ticking is a definite drawback.

Absolutely Perfect Travel Clock
Love this little clock. It is EASY to set (compared to my digital clocks) and uses a battery which makes it very portable. The alarm works well and again is an easy on/off button on top. No complicated procedures required. The clock is small for travel but big enough to see the numbers. My only issue with this clock is that it does not glow in the dark as I expected. There is a very soft ticking noise as well, but not enough to disturb. For me this is the perfect clock!

Double the cost in a year!
What a shame! Our favorite small travel alarm only cost $13 a year ago. Now we have Trump tariffs and the cost has doubled! We will have to buy a knockoff which I'm sure will be serviceable if not so compact and cute! I can't blame the product for this, hence the 5* rating!

Good little clock
It's a small travel clock. I tested the alarm to make sure it works, but I don't need that feature. It was loud enough to wake me and I'm a fairly deep sleeper. I chose this one because I was looking for a small battery powered clock for the bathroom that would not take up a lot of space. I find the clock face easy to read whether I'm next to it at the sink or a few feet away in the shower. It does not light up or glow in the dark if that is a feature you need. Overall, works great for my needs.

Not luminous!
Very disappointed as this clock is not luminous as stated in description. Loved the smaller size, simplicity, and being battery powered, but not lighting up is a deal breaker. Sent back for refund.

Its totally retro and I love it. Small and efficient. Perfect for sitting on a small shelf above my desktop and time my day's work. The figures are large enough to be clearly visible and glow in the dark so that the time can be seen pretty well even in pitch darkness at night. The alarm is loud enough for all practical purposes and is totally at par with larger commercial models available in the market from Indian manufacturers. It will wake you up without problems unless you are used to sleeping under runways and local train tracks. I travel a lot and this is going to be my timekeeping and wake-up assistant for every trip from now on. This is really well made and the precision engineering is visible in the finishing and craftsmanship of this table clock. It comes with a AA pencil cell in a well packed and sturdy box so nothing more is needed to make it work. Highly recommended.

Exactly what you need to get you out of bed in the morning, this clock is small but the alarm packs a punch. I’ve had mine for a very long time now and the battery’s seem to last forever
