There seem to be two completely different bases pictured here, one with a small bit opening and the second, much larger. Does this ship with two?

This Kit includes the DW617M motor pack, DW6814 Fixed Router Base, 1/4" and 1/2" collets, wrench, large hole sub base and storage bag.

What means " So Star Kit" ?

It is my understanding that this is a "soft start" feature, presumably in the "electronics" of it, that reduces the torque on the motor as it starts. I believe this means that it does not jerk when the motor is turned on and though hardly noticeable, the start-up speed is more gradual than a motor without it.
