I started doing research on why my hands were always so cold, then that led me to why my hair was thinning then to thyroid problems and here I am reviewing iodine. I bought this stuff with high hopes & absolutely no idea how to use it. I got it, put a whole droppers worth in a bottle of water & chugged it. I didn’t taste it at all and honestly didn’t think anything of it until about an hour later and my hands felt…different. I am 41, I live in Alabama & it’s usually pretty warm here. The past year my hands and feet have been alarmingly cold. But if you’re anything like me, you almost don’t want to know what’s wrong with you, so you avoid blood tests all together. I did more research on dosage of iodine, which is very, very difficult to find. Dr. Berg says 2-4 drops but in Japan they take 8-10x that amount (in seaweed & seafood, not supplement) and they have profoundly better health especially in relation to estrogen. Anyway, I now take 4 drops daily and I have noticed an improvement. My brain fog is gone, my hair isn’t as brittle, nails are much stronger, my skin isn’t as crepey on my chest. The heels of my feet are SMOOTH!! My lips aren’t nearly as dry & I don’t feel dead tired all the time. My hands and feet are the same temps as my body & it’s just honestly shocking how big of a difference this stuff has made in my life. My 12 year old son has had eczema all his life & after giving him this (2 drops daily) his legs have cleared up considerably & his face is no longer red. My whole family has benefitted from iodine & I Highly recommend you give it a try too.

12-22-2010 I have had this product now for 8 days and I have lost 8 pounds! But before I continue with my review let me pre-warn you: THIS PRODUCT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE! Do some google "research" about Iodine deficiencies, thyroid problems, and too much Iodine before you decide to take this product. I have read some people's blog about getting to much Iodine and feeling sick or not seeing any affects. If this happens, stop taking it. From what I have most people have enough Iodine in their diet if they use Iodized salt(which is in most table salt) or have a diet rich in sea vegetables, yogurt, cow's milk, eggs, strawberries and mozzarella cheese. I am a flexi-vegan so I probably don't get enough Iodine. A LITTLE BACKGROUND YOU MAY RELATE TO: I have been feeling VERY tired lately and very foggy, almost like pregnancy. I know that the tired foggy feeling is due hormonal changes. After the perceived noticeable change in my hormonal levels, one of my wisdom teeth started coming in rapidly after it had been steadily growing in for over 6 months. I was also starting to get cysts, which I had never experienced. I am a VERY healthy eater( I do love chocolate and homemade baked goods) and I love to exercise and I'm pretty athletic (even obese I can still walk/run 5-10 miles with no problem) but because of the general tired feeling I had I hadn't really exercised on a consistent basis (average 4-8 times a month). Since I was a little girl my weight has always fluctuated(but have always been athletic) and I was told by someone that maybe I had thyroid issues but disregarded that because that person was nuts. MY RESULTS As soon as I took my first 2 drops (about 1 cc each) I noticed a significant change. It was the same feeling you get when you are very dehydrated and then drink water, a rush of change in your body. It was crazy! My wisdom tooth was throbbing and that pain went away in hours. I have had bad back problems for 15 years and always experience pain after exercise. I went for a 5 mile walk and had no pain! (I am still limited in how long I can hold heavy things). My thoughts are much clearer and I have a more acute awareness. Quite honestly now that I can think more clearly I see how foggy my thoughts have been for almost 2 decades. I have lost a pound a day since I have started and have made no changes in my diet. I even caught a cold from my son and the cold effects do not seem as bad MY HOPES Since I do eat fairly healthy I am hoping that I will continue to loose weight to reflect my current lifestyle. I don't want to get my hopes up because it is almost to good to be true but so far what I have seen is amazing! Even if I don't loose any more weight just the relief of the back pain is enough results for me!!! I will keep updating periodically. Update 4-16-2011 So I have to be honest I stopped using this stuff at the end of January but it still remained to be very effective until the last day that I used it. The weight that I lost stayed gone (total about 15 pounds) and my back pain disappeared while I was taking this stuff. I looked at my empty bottle and realized I had forgotten to order more. My back pain continued after I discontinued use. I spoke with someone who is training in Ayurvedic medicine and she actually recommended a higher dose of iodine. This iodine is only 2% and contains potassium. I am potassium deficient so this is probably why it worked so well for me. I gave some to a neighbor and they said it caused them headaches but she did have extra natural energy that she appreciated. The person that I know who is training in Aryuvedic medicine said that if you put some on your skin and let it absorb if it disappears than it probably means that your body is deficient. Even though our salt is iodized, compared to most eastern cultures we take in significantly less iodine and have higher rates of cancer and obesity. I would recommend this product as a good starter before taking a less highly concentrated version or if taking a higher potency of iodine seems to give you negative affects.

I've been really happy with this liquid iodine. It's easy to take, has very little taste, and has become part of my daily routine. Since I started using it, I've noticed an improvement in my overall energy and well-being. I'm using it as part of my efforts to support my thyroid health, and so far I've had a positive experience. The dropper makes it easy to measure, and the bottle has lasted a long time. I'll definitely keep purchasing it.

Great Product, Terrible Packaging! I give the contents 5 stars, but only 3 stars for the dropper, the rubber gets hard and cracks, and now I have iodine stains on my carpet that will never fully be removed.

My bottle arrived intact and works well. Tastes like the way moth balls smell. Not sure if it's placebo effect but my energy level and mood improved within a few uses. This is not a reflection on the product or seller but I noticed people are taking several drops. I started off with two per day and quickly moved to 3. However, after researching on the net, this is way too much. Perhaps because it's being pushed by influencers and it results in more sales if we go through more product but you can really hurt yourself taking too much. I am going to dial my dosage back to once drop just twice a week. Here's some info I found on the net: Dosing Lugol’s iodine can be rather tricky, because a couple of the thyroid “experts” have recommended as many at 20 drops per day. Let’s do some math, here. If using Lugol’s 2%, there are about 2.5 MILLIGRAMS (mg) of iodine in each drop. The RDA is 150 MICROGRAMs (mcg) per day. How do these 2 compare? Let’s begin with the basics: 1 mg = 1000 mcg; you read that correctly. 1 MILLIGRAM is the same amount as one THOUSAND MICROGRAMS. The recommended daily intake of iodine is 150 mcg, NOT 150 mg. Dosing just 1 drop of Lugol’s 2% provides 2.5 MG of iodine – that is 2500 mcg of iodine PER DROP – meaning that just 1 drop of Lugol’s 2% iodine provides a dose nearly 17 TIMES the recommended daily allowance. Now remember when I mentioned that some experts have published recommendations to take up to 20 drops per day??? Taken over weeks to months to years, this CAN result in overdosing of iodine, which CAN and DOES impact thyroid health, and can contribute to multiple problems including thyroid damage and liver stress.

Great product would definitely buy again. I have noticed some changes not drastic but iodine is hard to build up at first.
