Seiko 9" Brown Wooden Case with Chime Mantel Clock

If there were 10 stars, that would be my rating. The last thing I needed in my 63 years of life was another chiming clock. I ordered this to take with me on my weekend getaway trips to Atlanta and Pensacola. I received it this afternoon and I checked the settings from the factory which I was satisfied with, moved the time to 1:35 and installed the battery at that time. I didn't hear a 1:45 chime, but boy was it loud and beautiful at 2:00!!! I have what Seiko calls a modern wall clock and I greatly admire it. This clock definitely did not disappoint me!! I left it on maximum volume all day and this evening I actually turned the volume down. This is going to be a perfect hotel room accompiant!! I am hard on my clocks, I hold them to the atomic clock in Colorado. I very, very, very much highly recommend this mantle clock if you want one that sounds closely to a grandfather clock!! 07 October 2025 Recently I went on a getaway trip for two days. I was about to get on the interstate and somehow I remembered I forgot this clock. At first, I thought Oh well, but then I thought, this is the reason I bought the clock, so I turned around and got it. I had it set on maximum volume which I thoroughly enjoy, but I had to turn it down in the state park cottage I was staying in. It is amazing what Seiko has designed in chiming clocks!! If you enjoy the sound of a grandfather clock, I highly recommend this small size Seiko mantle clock. By the way, it sounds at it's fullest potential when resting on a firm surface. I had it on the passenger seat on my way to Lake Eufaula and it was very muffled. I completely enjoy Howard Miller clocks, but Seiko has developed incredible sounding clocks. 27 December 2025 If you want a clock that keeps perfect time and sounds very close to a grandfather clock, this, in my opinion, is your perfect choice. The chime volume is precisely controllable and that is about all I can say about it. I had it set on maximum volume on my recent trip to Pensacola, Florida and it didn't disrupt my sleep. While I had a one bedroom suite, it was still a small living area. Keep an eye on the price because I have seen it in the mid 80's recently on Amazon. I have always wanted a grandfather's clock but live in a one bedroom apartment so it would be too big. I decided to get a mantel clock instead. I received this clock on Friday, and I love it! It is very well made and solid! It is just the right size for my apartment and the chimes sound wonderful. I decided on this particular clock because of the Seiko name and the reviews written about it. It takes one C battery - not the AA that is noted in the description. The battery is included. I love that you can adjust the volume. Living in an apartment building I didn't want to annoy the neighbors. I have it set about 1/2 way and it is plenty loud for me. I noticed when I tried putting it below halfway that it didn't chime at all. It has the option of turning off the chimes at night. There are also 2 different chime selections. I have always loved the Westminster chimes so that is what I have mine set at. I find it quite soothing and my cat isn't annoyed by it either. I keep the chimes on 24x7 and am a light sleeper - but am not bothered by it at all. It chimes every 15 minutes and chimes out the hours at the top of the hour. It appears to be keeping great time. The price is very reasonable too. I would highly recommend it. I shot a short video of it and posted it to my FB wall - and have received great comments about it. One of my friends at work told her husband she wants one for Christmas. It is an impressive little clock. It is made in China - but is well made.

This is a beautifully designed clock that looks antique, and the chime sounds authentic with easily adjustable volume. Excellent product!

Nice Westmoreland Chimes clock. This is a beautiful clock that chimes every fifteen minutes. Nice quality chime sounds. The clock looks and works great. I would recommend purchasing it.

Nice clock with chime. I would like better if you could set the morning start chime an hour later than 6am. Other than that it sounds great. It sounds like a grandfather clock, and keeps great time.

Very nice! A compact, classic clock that comes with 2 chime music options for an hourly strike. It also has a volume control that goes all the way to mute, if you prefer no sounds. Lastly, it has an option for a 'sleepmode' with the clock going on mute between 23:00-5:59. Requires a battery. So far so good, and the real color is quite close to image color.

Great looking clock, easy to read at a distance, and the chimes are enjoyable as well. Here are some thoughts about the clock: 1. The Amazon site states that the clock uses a AA battery but it comes with a "C" battery which fits the battery compartment perfectly. 2. Some reviewers have complained that the 2 raised pieces on the front of the clock look like they are made of burl wood in the picture but look like plain wood when viewing the clock in person. If you view the clock in just the right light angle you will see the burl look but I doubt that the panels were ever real burl pieces. 3. The clock chimes 4 tones 15 minutes after the hour, 8 tones 30 minutes after the hour, 12 tones 45 minutes after the hour, and 16 tones at the top of the hour - and then chimes once for each hour (ie: 5 times for 5 o'clock.). I think that the 4th tone in the sequence is a little flat but I am just being picky. 4. You can adjust the loudness of the chimes and you can set the clock so that the chimes don't go off at night. The loudness "button" is a bit tricky to adjust - you put a finger on it and twist - so you might have to do a trial and error to get it right. 5. When I first put in the battery and then rotated the minute hand to reach the correct time I discovered the clock was off 10 minutes and the chimes were off 10 minutes. I tried to set the time for 7:10 and rotated the hand 10 minutes past 7:00 without waiting for the clock to finish its full 7:00 chime and strike. I removed the battery, backed the clock up to 6:55, installed the battery, moved the hand to 7:00, let it run through the chimes, and then set it to the proper time. 6. One reason I bought this clock was for its looks but secondly I wanted a clock with a Seiko movement. I have had a number of Seiko clocks and watches and have never had a problem with any Seiko product. 7. The removable panel on the back is a clever design and makes getting to the clock mechanism to change settings very easy. I usually don't get really jazzed about things that I order online but I am really pleased with this clock. My wife and I really enjoy the clock and hope that you will enjoy it as well.

I received my clock approximately 5-days ago. Before I even opened the box, I was pleased. The clock was packed with care and very well protected for shipping. The clock itself is beautiful! Unlike a few reviewers on here, I expected what I paid for, but I got more than I expected! The clock is very well made, and the intricacies in the woodwork make it even more striking. I haven't had any problems with it at all since I set it up. The chimes are absolutely beautiful! I was glad that a couple of the reviewers thought to record the chimes - that's what sold me on this one! I am thrilled with my purchase! Now, for those who have submitted problems with your clocks . . . The door in the back of the clock is not difficult to open and remove. You stick your finger in the hole, gently push up, and pull the door away. Simple and easy! I had no problem with the dials at all, though I'm sure there are some out there with more tension than mine had. If you're having problems functioning any of the dials, get a pencil with an eraser, and use the eraser end to assist you. YES, the inside, where the battery compart is located, is plastic! I'm not sure what folks are expecting, but this is pretty standard nowadays. If you're having difficulties getting your clock to sync with the chimes, let it run a full hour after setup and see if it adjusts itself. If not, open the back, and turn the dial for the clock hands to the 12:00 position and let it complete a full chime session. Now, turn the dial all the way around until you return to the 12:00 position, letting it complete another full chime session. Still using the dial, set the actual time, then let it run normally. Pay attention to see if your clock is chiming correctly at each quarter hour - it should be properly synced now. If you're thinking about purchasing this clock, stop thinking about it and do it! You won't be sorry!

We couldn't be happier with this little timepiece. Keeps time perfectly plus the chime is what we think would be a large scale grandfather clock. Great buy....thank you SEIKO and thank you AMAZON for carrying this product at such a reasonable price :)

Replaced an antique mantel clock of similar size. This one is better. Don’t have to wind it and love the Westminster chime.

Wunderschöner Klang. In der Lautstärke verstellbar. Schönes Holz und gute verarbeitung. Genaue Zeitangabe. Auch nicht zu wuchtig. Würde sie immer wieder kaufen. Bin sehr zufrieden.

Lindo relógio de mesa ( conhecido como relógio de lareira em inglês = "Mantel Clock" ). Não é muito grande e fica bem num escritório ou numa sala de médio porte. Acabamento perfeito! muito primoroso! com a marca Seiko. Possui duas melodias a escolher: a clássica "westminster" e uma outra melodia menos conhecida. Um trecho da melodia selecionada (escolhida) toca de 15 em 15 minutos, sendo que nas horas cheias, toca a melodia inteira seguida do número de batimentos das horas (Exemplo: às quatro horas faz quatro batidas): O Ponto negativo são as poucas possibilidades de programação: a forma silenciosa noturna apaga apenas o bater das horas cheias, mas não silencia a melodia de 15 em 15 minutos que continua tocando durante a madrugada... Não é um bom relógio para um cômodo, onde alguém dorme à noite. Foi uma ótima compra e recomendo para toda a comunidade da Amazon.
