Great for xLights Arcs with Kulp32 – Bright, Smooth, and Easy to Work With
I’m using the ALITOVE WS2811 12V addressable RGB strips in my xLights Christmas display with a Kulp32 board, mounted inside PVC to make light arcs, and they’ve worked really well. The strips are bright, the pixels respond smoothly in xLights, and they bend nicely to fit inside the PVC for clean, even arcs. Being 12V WS2811, they’re easy to configure on the Kulp32, and they’ve held up fine outdoors thanks to the IP65 waterproofing. The 3M VHB backing is strong and helps keep them in place during setup. One thing to watch for: The RGB color order may not match what xLights expects right away, so your colors can look “off” (like red showing as green, etc.). It’s an easy fix by changing the color order setting inside xLights, but it’s something to be aware of when you first test them. Pros: Works great with xLights + Kulp32 Bright, smooth color effects – great for PVC arcs 12V WS2811 pixels, easy to configure IP65 waterproof and solid VHB adhesive backing Cons: May need to adjust RGB order in xLights so colors display correctly Overall, very good strips for DIY Christmas light shows, especially for pixel arcs and other props controlled with xLights and a Kulp32.

Amazing awesomeness! These are fantastic!
Bought 10 of these (50 meters total) to add to my Christmas pixel display using 12V controllers (Falcon and Baldrick). Works flawlessly after wiring up XConnect connectors. These are going to be amazing for lining driveway edges, sidewalks, roofline, etc. Connecting 2 5M strips together on a single port is a thing of beauty. 10 meters of uninterrupted light that looks like a laser beam. Zero hot spots. Look like neon. I've got some great props and a lot of lights in my display, but I have a feeling these long runs of laser beams are going to be a highlight. There is a tradeoff, however. Because there are 6 lights per node you can't be super precise (think window corners, etc.) but for long runs of awesome lights, these are spectacular. Also, the color order on these is not RGB like standard bullet or seed pixels (the ones I received are BRG), so if you use Xlights you'll have to manually change the color order every time you move these around your show (to a different port, controller, etc.). These are cuttable, but there's no way to be precise as you can't see individual lights and there is light bleed from one node to another, so no clearly defined line from one node to the next. If you manually adjust the node count by 1 in XLights you'll get an idea of where you can safely cut (use tape to mark the before/after). These are well worth it in my book! I'm a big fan.

Two dead sets, no response from manufacturer
TL;DR - Received one strip apparently defective, replacement strip was also defective. No communication from manufacturer, returning and going with another brand. Get what you pay for. Ordered for a project I'm doing in the garage for my stepson (lights behind his Nerf gun wall). Not my first round with WS821* lighting, as I've built a few props and decorations for the house using my own setups (ESP8266, 5V regulator, level shifter, 12V 6A power supplies I salvage from old access control systems (bench tested first, of course). I've used Alitove's 12mm lights and figured the strips would be good for this project (they're being mounted behind a peg board, so I'm not looking for direct lighting). I understood these are 150 LEDs controlled in 3 LED segments with GRB channel order prior to ordering. What I did not expect was to receive a strip defective and get a replacement strip that was also defective. I checked my power output (13V at plug, 12V at output of strip), checked my data line (5V, ground tied from level shift to ground of 12VDC into the LED strip), made sure I had all my components as needed (resistor off level shift, although not needed on WS2811; 1000uf capacitor prior to power input to LED strip, etc) but no dice. I power cycled my controller multiple times however on the first strip I only ever got flashes of light (very brief on initial power up) both on and off the controller. On the second strip, with the controller I initially got the first segment to light up however the strip never responded to commands; after initial power cycle I triple checked my setup (again) and tried power cycling the strip however it would not respond. I tried reaching out to Alitove multiple times to find out if there was a difference in how these strips are connected versus their 12mm version however never received a response. I've waited about 3 weeks now, so the lights go back and I try a different manufacturer.

Great strip, great adhesive. Decent price
The previous brand that I had got discontinued, and these are exactly what I was looking for. I love the first option, the dream color. Looks great for under the car as well. The adhesive is pretty strong just be sure to wipe the area you plan to put it with alcohol wipes. I used sp110e for the controller only needed 2 of them, for 4 strips.
