Norpro 1013 Batter Dispenser Clear/Red, 4 cup

Perfect for cupcakes and pancakes!I make a lot of cupcakes for parties. This batter dispenser makes the task easy. When I have tried putting the batter in the cupcake liner with spoons and spatulas I always had to clean up batter spills. Also I ended up having batter all over my hands. I find the large opening on the dispenser makes it easy to pour in my batter from the mixing bowl into it. After filing the dispenser, I simply hold it over my cupcake tin/liner and hold the lever on the handle. When most of the batter has gone thru the dispenser, I just scrap down the inside of the dispenser pushing the batter down to the dispenser hole. This works with most cake mixes, however if the batter is too thick the batter will not go thru the dispenser well. I would not recommend mixing fruit or chocolate chips into the batter, as it may clog up the release valve. I have also used this for pancakes and again find it easy to use. I can easily make all the pancakes the same size, and I don't have batter drips on the grill to clean up.Clean up is easy, I just run water thru and open and close the dispenser valve using the had lever on the handle, then use soap and water. I would not recommend putting this in the dishwasher. This product is made of a thin plastic and will could break if dropped.

like most of you, i did some internet research trying to best suit my needs for one of these dispensers. reading all the good and bad reviews for each. I took my chance on ordering two of these at once and so far so good. i wanted to use them for baking cupcakes, not that any of us cant fill the cups with a spoon, spatuala or just pouring the batter and hoping for the best, but one of the reasons for buying was the cleanliness of it all. it is a very clean process now in pouring the batter = A+. no leaks, worked as easy with every squeeze of the trigger and once the weight of the batter was lighten by dispencing, i needed the spatuala to help the remaining out, but that was still cleaned than pouring from the bowl, so no complaints from me but take note both hands may be required. second purpose of purchase was to see if this will dispense chocolate into molds, which i will be testing out this weekend. mfr. does not state the use for it in that way, but i wanted to try this before buying a chocolate dispenser as well. so in attempts as being helpful as reviews were to me, i will update the chocolate test soon.I have no doubts this will be great for any baking batter recipes. easy to use, no mess, no leaks or drips and easy to clean up.

This thing worked perfect for a cupcake party I was having. I was able to fill the cupcake liners very quickly and neatly. My only concern is that the top does not lock on. My daughter placed it upside dwn on thewhite top, when she lifted it up all of the batter spilled all over the counter! You have to keep it face down otherwise there will be a huge mess to clean up. Aside from that it's very easy, fool proof& works well

Super glad I purchased this. So much easier and faster making pancakes. Much cleaner filling cupcakes. Easy to clean. Super easy to use. No issues with leaking. Has held up fine in the top rack of the dishwasher.Being that I’m lazy and hate dirtying extra dishes, I mix my batter directly in the dispenser. If you want to be lazy like me, my advice is to add a little bit of water/liquid before you add any dry ingredients. The water creates a barrier and prevents the dry ingredient from clogging or not mixing in the pour spout. If you forget to add the water first, just dispense about a tablespoon of your batter in the sink first because all of the unstirred dry ingredient will be sitting at the bottom and your family will make fun of you for pouring unmixed pancakes (Clearly speaking from personal experience).

I've only used it once so far, to pour pancake batter onto a pan, it worked great. Easy to use and I had a lot less pancake batter dripping all over the counter and range, as compared to my old fashioned "spoon" method. Kids enjoyed watching me use it, swiftly dropping nice neat circles of batter onto the pan. I can see that the device is a bit delicate, not something to let the kid's play with in their home making center, but very functional and easy to clean. I recommend hand washing rather than using the dishwasher.May 2014 update: Still very happy with this batter dropper. We mostly use it for pancakes but have also used it for cupcakes. Works great, enables me to load the pans with the correct amount of batter neatly and with very few spilled drops. Holds up well to lots of use, adaptable to both thin and thicker batter, easy to clean and has not discolored, cracked or failed in any way. I still recommend hand washing rather than using the dishwasher.

This is a great addition to my arsenal of kitchen tools. It makes dosing out batter much easier for a variety of applications.First, this is fantastic for pancakes. On my first attempt, I mixed the pancake batter separately then transferred it to this unit to dispense - this worked great. But I also found that, for pancake and waffle applications, including batter from a box mix as well as home-made, this works equally well - with less clean-up - when just mixing the batter in the unit itself. I use a soft silicone spatula to mix everything to make sure I don't scratch or otherwise damage the plastic.This also works really well for most muffins, dispensing batter without making any mess into the muffin cups. Why most not all? I have found that corn muffin batter tends to be too thick to dispense reasonably quickly from the unit, but most other types tend to be fine, so YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) but I think that most will work great.If you're wondering - just buy it! For about 15 bucks, you can't go wrong, and it can be very right for your kitchen!

The pancake dropper is excellent so nice to use and no mess . Cut time in half highly recommend if you like making pancakes. Very happy with it. All the same size pancakes you can have the kids use it they will love it.

Technically I would give this 5 stars however the picture is a little inaccurate. I looked at other brands and they all seem to be the same devise just different name. I purchased this off Amazon because it seemed like a better made product then the others. However, I was wrong. The reason I purchased this is, if you look at the picture carefully you will see the bottom slide is made of metal or aluminum. This is the spot the will break. I was happy to see that. After I opened the package, it is Not Metal or Aluminum. It is white plastic just like every other brand. That is why I gave this 3 stars. I guess the older models were metal but the new ones are cheap plastic.Other then that, it works great and I am happy with the performance. It just won't last as long as I hoped it would with the slide change they made.
