Cracking little knife
This is a great little knife. It's well made, strong, sharp and looks fantastic. It arrived with the blade pretty sharp but I spent a little time to get it to its best and it was well worth it. The blade is well within the legal length limit to be carried in the UK but because it locks in the open position rules that out. Its a silly law but it must be obeyed or you're likely to get it confiscated and maybe end up in court. It's great to have in your fishing tackle box or for use while camping. It's well made and has no slack or blade slop in both the open and closed positions. Pros. Looks great Well made No slop Sharp Lightweight Cons. Locking blade so not legal to carry in the UK. I wish they made a non locking version. If you're a knife lover this is a lovely one to add to your collection. It's cute as hell too and even comes with a matching keyring and all at a great price.

Cuts the mustard, and anything else....
Upon receiving this knife, I had great expectations being pleasantly surprised at the quality of the packaging. And the actual knife was equally well presented in terms of fit and finish The quality feel extended to every aspect. The blade is nicely honed with that gorgeous curve to the cutting edge, and the nice wooden inserts on the handle set the look off totally. I have given the blade an even keener edge with a diamond sharpening stone. You can tell a lot about the quality of a metal by the way it feels when you are using a diamond stone on it, or any other kind of abrasive or cutting tool like a file or a hacksaw. and this blade felt good. It takes a very fine edge, with a very small amount of burring. And was still sharp after 20 mins whittling twigs (my life is so full of adventure) Having a locking mechanism means that it’s not legal to carry in the UK, but by simply bending the tang that snaps into place behind the blade outward with a screwdriver, it will no longer snap into place behind the blade, meaning it is no longer a locking blade, but it means you can push the tang inward to lock the blade while you are using it, but it will spring out of the way when you release your grip so you can close the blade. I found that tightening the blade pivot bolts gives a little added friction, which works better for me. Biggest like: The fact it is tiny, yet beautifully proportioned, and is s perfect addition to my keying. Biggest dislike: The wooden inserts are simply screwed to the sides of the frame, I would have preferred if they were slightly inlaid, by building up the edges of the frame, and linishing them in place to give a smooth transition. But this would add weight, and cost I guess. All in all, a great little knife at a superb price. If you’re looking for a tiny knife, with decent quality, for either your keying, or your pocket ( It has a pocket clip of course) Then this should be seriously considered.

Small but functional
There seems to be two versions of this knife in the wild according to reviews - some junk version that falls apart easily or the option I got which is a solid little knife that needed just a little attention to make it usable. Out of the box (it literally comes in a handy little plastic box I won't be throwing away) the frame lock is quite stiff and several reviews allude to modifying the knife to either loosen this up or to actually make it street legal. The locking mechanism is a "frame lock", ie part of the frame literally presses against the side of the blade (creating tension which makes it harder to open by accident), slipping UNDER the blade when it is opened, so that you have to press the frame back out to close the knife. On legality, this knife isn't a UK legal EDC (every day carry) because it has a locking blade. I'm using it around the house and garden and have no intention of carrying it off my premises so this doesn't matter to me. The initial stiffness makes closing the knife quite awkward, as you have to put some force on it, which also folding the blade closed - I really didn't like this so I used a screwdriver between the frame and the blade to reduce the tension. This DOES mean there's less metal under the blade locking it in place when you're using it so use your common sense. I also found with time that the lock became a bit iffy, so be aware you may be compromising the knife by trying to modify it. On the other hand it allows for much easier one-handed opening and safe practises will mitigate any problems with the blade closing when in use anyway. There's also the option to loosen the frame lock off entirely and forego the locking function. In theory this would make the knife street legal, BUT you will definitely still get questioned if stopped by police as it's not anyone's idea of a traditional penknife. I also think this will make the knife borderline dangerous to the user as there is no back spring so the only thing keeping it closed (or open) will be the tension on the bolt through the blade hinge. The spring clip is also really stiff and again you can modify this if you want, or take it off entirely as I found the entire knife fits quite handily in the watch pocket on my jeans (the little pocket above the main pocket on the right hand side of your jeans)(is it just me and Clarkson still wearing jeans?) To be usable you will need to sharpen it. The shape of the blade and the intial ground isn't the best but it's fine for me, cutting twine and taking plant cuttings etc. It's a cheap knife at the end of the day, and you get what you pay for, but I was pleasantly surprised.
