Excellent replacement

I’ve had the product for a couple months now and it works great. The reason I selected this o e was because of the extra metal band around the plastic that connects to the dryer. That is the stress point that seems to always cracks. The only reason for 4 stars on the installation, which typically is just sliding in on the dryer timer, is because it didn’t fit exactly. I think it could have been my fault since I’ve had to use pliers to turn my dryer on. To fit this onto the timer, I simply used a box cutter and slightly trimmed the timer stem so the new dryer knob fit perfectly tight. It works fantastic now.

Bought this to replace the knob on the dryer and it fit perfectly. A week later the metal ring that keeps it together detached from the plastic and the plastic cracked. I thought maybe I just had bad luck. I ordered another one (yeah, I know fool me once...) and the new one seemed to work a little longer this time. It made it an entire month before it did the same thing. Would like to return them to get my money back but wouldn't you know it the return window just closed. Do yourself a favor and buy a different one for a few cents more rather than this one.

Well: for about a year: I was using a pair of plyers: to turn our G*E dryer on. I tried to repair the controller knob several times: and about 2 months ago it finally stopped turning the timer. I've been meaning to call G*E and try to order another one: but I just kept putting it off. I was just sitting at the computer: and up pops this controller knob in amazon suggestions: and it was only $6.99: so: what could I lose. So: I ordered it. I opened the bag: I held my breath: lined it up on the timer shaft: and prayed once more: and gave it a push. And: what do you know: It was a perfect fit! Folks: it's built with a tougher durable plastic: than the original one: and it even looks nicer than the original one as well. I'd give this one 10-stars because it saved me the extra hassle from going to the store: or calling the G*E co. to get another one.

My dryer seems to enjoy trashing these knobs. The last one I bought lasted just a few months, so I bought this one. At least I didn't panic like I did before when the dryer stopped working.. This one works fine, only it didn't slide onto the spindle all the way back like the other ones did, but it works and I'm not going to force it. (And yes, I removed the metal piece from the previous knob before I replaced it with this one) I am trying to see if this will last longer by only turning the knob clockwise instead of backwards to set it, and hopefully it won't crack as quickly.

I had to purchase this item because I broke the knob on my dryer. It was easy to pull my broken one off and slide this one on! I've actually bought this item twice. The first time I bought it to replace a cracked knob and then boom, I broke it after a few months. The little "D" shaped part on the bottom that attaches to the metal piece of the dryer cracks so easily with turning the temp knob. So I bought a second one and made up my mind that I would super glue it to the little metal knob so that the plastic part wont crack again. To my surprise, the second one I bought had a really nice metal reinforcement on it so that it doesn't crack when turning the knob!!! Won't have to glue it on after all! I will upload pics as soon as I can.

This knob works perfectly fine. It’s a very tight fit so putting it on can be difficult. For me, it lasted 6 months before breaking. I wish these lasted longer.

Dryer stopped working and we were looking at a pretty expensive repair bill. Hubby said, let's take a look at the knobs and voila - the knob had worn and wasn't turning the control shaft. Ordered this part, popped it on and the dryer control works perfectly.

When I replaced the handle with this new one, there is a 1/4" noticeable gap, however the product is very sturdy so I don't mind.
