Sennheiser Pro Audio XSW-D Lavalier Set Digital Wireless Omnidirectional Lavalier System

This has been a great purchase. Because of the brand, Sennheiser, I felt comfortable with the purchase and I have not been disappointed. Easy to use, great sound quality. I will likely purchase another one of these units in the near future.

I bought mine right at launch and have been using it off and on, swapping between the RodeLink set and this one. I love how tiny this thing is and talent enjoys the small size and weight as well. You barely notice its there. I don't love how you only have one LED indicator. I wish the battery life was a bit longer just to ease my mind, but honestly, I've never had an issue in the real world. I received this item today. The box was open the items have been used and a sticker placed on them. Currently I am charging them. I feel if you charge full price the product should be brand new. Please know that I am not pleased with the way the item has arrived and is now in my procession.

It has good battery life. Very easy to use

The platform is not stable even in a small room with minimal RF. I am using the XS Wireless adigital Lavalier Set in a 40 feet by 30 feet room. The mic is connected to a PA system will all other mics muted. There are no monitor speakers on the stage. The fist mic set disconnected 6 times during a 30 minute presentation. Sometimes for about 30 seconds. The light on the transmitter and receiver would go red. Sennheiser sent a replacement set. The new set exhibits the same behavior, although not as frequently. There are 25 people in the room. Ten are using an app on their phones to follow the presentation.

Product worked great for the first month of use. Great sound quality and never failed. I am a teacher and used it for instructional videos and my online meetings. After a little over one month, now the equipment outputs static. Lots of static. Can’t use it for anything. I tried a different audio interface and some mixers to see if it was the audio equipment failing. Doesn’t work properly on anything. What was once crisp nice audio is now worst than a mic on a phone. Waste of $200. Really big bummer! I love sennheiser but this really fell short.

I ordered mine from BH not amazon only because I know I would get it next day. It’s easy to use as it’s very simplistic. That’s good. To test, I plugged the xlr receiver into my zoom H5 in channel 2. In Channel 1, I plugged my Sony ECM-44B which is a self powered lav mic. Both the Sony and Sennheiser lavs were clipped on my t-shirt pocket. The audio between the two was similar; however I had to set the gain on the Sony to 7 and 5 for the Sennheiser to match the audio signal. I switched the lav positions, and still the Sennheiser was hotter; not a problem. The audio quality between the two is identical to me; so that’s good no problem. I then tested the range of the Sennheiser alone. This is the reason for the 3 star review. The mic lost signal when I walked 25 feet away with a single wall dividing my distance. I should not that there is a refrigerator in that line of signal. I walked out side about 25 feet and the same thing. I also walked to the front door and turned so that the receiver/transmitter line was interrupted by my body; again, loss of signal. So I believe this unit is only good for indoor use with close distance. I should note I have strong WiFi in my home so this could be an issue in my case. I did not test distance outside as this is not my intended use. I’m just a hobbyist so for my use I could make it work and this unit is intended for my level. If I were getting paid for content, I would not trust this, but if I were a paid professional, I would likely invest in something much better. The 3 star rating is due to my expectations for this to handle the small environment I tested it in.

Tested at 3 Weddings. I had another mic just in case. Miserably failed. The lapel mic would cut out at 20-35 feet every time. The description says up to 250 feet under optimal conditions....so I figured if I get 100-125 feet I’m still good. Returned.

I am a Wedding Officiant and use this, attached to my ceremony book. Perfect reception for the couples without having a bulky mic in their faces. HIGHLY recommend
