Smellgood African Shea Butter, 32 oz.

This is the best shea butter I’ve ever used. It’s only takes a small amount for each body part. It moisturize your skin and provides sunscreen protection. It has a pleasant aroma that dissipates almost immediately. Place a small amount in your hands and rub hands together a few times before applying it and it goes on smoothly. It will give your face a slight glow if you use to much, so I just apply a small amount of regular lotion to tone it down a little.

This shea butter is rich, smooth, and very moisturizing. It keeps my skin soft all day and works great on dry areas. A little goes a long way, and the quality is excellent.

I used this shea butter to make body butter. I have only used ivory shea butter in the past so I was surprised at the softer spongy consistency of this kind. The smell is odd, but it’s normal as far as I know. It still worked great, and the price was better than the ivory shea butter. I use the farmhouse on Boone body butter recipe, which is super easy. It’s just a half cup of each of the following: shea butter, cocoa butter, olive oil, and coconut oil. You melt them in a pot, let it cool to room temp., stick it in the freezer until is starts to thicken (but not too much!), and then blend it up. I use my immersion blender. I included pics so you can see how easy it is. I will most likely be buying this again. I like using more natural ingredients in my skin since reading about how harmful all the chemicals around us are. It feels so luxurious to slather my body butter made with this shea butter on after a shower, and it gives me peace of mind, because it’s natural.

The best Shea butter I’ve tried! it smells great feels great and it’s a really nice amount for the price definitely worth the buy! I recommend 1000% !!! Safe for sensitive skin for sure. This is exactly as described. It is such a wonderful, natural product that I'm very excited to add to my face and skin care routines. It is very easy to use, I put some in a small travel container for my lips and put some in a larger container for daily skin care use and stored the rest. The consistency is pretty thick/heavy, similar to cold butter, but it is easy to work with and a little goes a long way. It is easy to apply and absorbs quickly. Just a few uses and it's already helping to make my lips and other skin soft. I didn't notice a scent when using on my elbows, heels, etc. It has a light scent when using on my lips, just smells natural. I only gave 4 stars because the packaging could use an upgrade. The lip broke on my container when I opened it the 1st time. Product was unaffected and I was transferring to other containers anyway.

UPDATE: After speaking with SmellGood, we have concluded that the shea butter I received is indeed genuine SmellGood brand. Also, please be aware that they fill 32 oz jar with shea butter, and so you will get less than 32 oz shea butter by weight. I got about 28 oz. Kind of annoying but its still a great price. As for the butter, it is easily scraped out of jar and has a good fondant-like texture. After rubbing it with hands it becomes an oil that is easily applied to body. There are tiny stearic acid beads that some might call "gritty" but I just keep rubbing until all the fat is completely melted. The color is vibrant yellow from being root-dyed. CAUTION: It can stain cloth, so please use with care. If super fair, it will also tint your complexion (a plus for me). I find that I use less yellow shea butter goes further than ivory, so I end up using less. It has good lab results with minimal levels of free fatty acids and peroxide, and also acceptable level of unsaponifiable matter (the healing fraction of the butter which contains the vitamins, triterpenes, phenols, and sterols). I have tried many brands and SmellGood and Karitex are the brand I can recommend. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I ordered this "SmellGood" shea butter from Amazon a few days ago. When it came I decided to check its weight. It weighed 28.35 oz so I decided to contact the seller about it. I went on my phone, clicked on my order, and then scrolled to find out if it said anything in the description about it's ounces because the title said it was 32 oz. I noticed a chart underneath the category "feature and details" that listed HalalEveryday as the manufacturer. I didn't remember seeing this chart when I first ordered it so I went to my computer to more conveniently look up its details. This chart was nowhere to be found on the computer version of the listing. It was only available on my smartphone version of the listing. SmellGood and HalalEveryday are two different companies. So then I had an Amazon chat with a representative. The representative said they would report the issue to the right team. So I am not sure that this is truly Smellgood brand or if it is HalalEveryday and neither is Amazon (who I might point out or the sellers of this item). The experience was kind of frustrating because I just want authentic SmellGood brand because they are one of the few shea brands here that have good lab result levels for free fatty acids, peroxide, and unsaponifiable matter. Some of the shea companies are resorting to doing cosmetic testing instead of food laboratory testing. Cosmetic testing does not test as many parameters as food laboratory testing does (like unsaponifiable matter). It is important to know what the unsaponifiable matter percentage is because this is where the nutrients and good sterols are. A lot of other brands of shea butter contain between only 1 and 2% unsaponifiable matter. SmellGood contains about 4%. You can email smell good for a copy of the labs of the shea butter that you bought from them. 4% is not fantastic but it is much more acceptable than 1 to 2%.

A little goes a long way, keeps my skin moisturized, tub will last a long time, you don't need a lot to apply to dry areas.

Great value for your money, it already comes softened and it helps with cracked feet and hands, and all over body butter that smooths your skin is also great for a mosquito bite and itch, and great for sunburn and some people put it in their hair, love this product, and I have been buying this brand for many years now my family loves it. And the quality is the best.

i have used this product ever since its arrived and i do not like it all all 1. it has a very strong bad smell. does not smell like other raw shea butters that i have used 2. it is extremely greasy. goes everywhere. 3. it is not fine, very grainy and does not apply smoothly on skin have to rub in alot 4. it is super yellow and stains 5. i have used less than 1/4 of the tub and i am going to throw it away. its so bad. highly do not recommend

Shea butter is a great moisturiser. We have not opened it to test this product as yet but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Changing my review to 4 star as the good arrives 3 days later . The trucking system was not good. As the item was stated as delivered when it was not. Product is great so withdraw my first comment.
